I think the Celtics should show a brief video, he should get a nice little ovation, and then he should boo the crap out of him everytime he touches the ball. And after Courtney Lee blocks his first jumpshot, we should cheer like fanatics.

My thoughts exactly. Standing ovation when he is first introduced. He deserves it for everything he did for the organization.

Then after that boo him vigoriously every time he touches the ball going forward.

Idk, I'm still trying very very hard not to hate Ray Allen. He was always my favorite big 3, he just all class. Hard to hate him. But he did go to the enemy and I do bleed green...so.....

yeh I guess I'll boo the crap out of him either at the game or at my apartment with my friends...

Should he? No, probably not. Will he? Yes, most likely. Fans are fickle and have a short memory. I personally know that he should get a ovation for what he's done for us, but don't know if I could cheer for him. He might get a decent ovation if the Celtics give him a nice video montage before the home game.

I'll be at home watching, so whether I boo or not it's not like I will be heard. Like I said before, I can care less about Ray Allen or the Miami Heat. Ray has already tarnished his legacy and reputation with the Celtics organization. I think his nice guy act overshadows who he is as a teammate. Ray of all people should know professional sports is a business, players names get dangled in trade rumors all the time. Starters get replaced by teammates all the time and Ray ego's couldn't accept that.

Ray left more money on the table to play a diminished role in Miami behind Wade? The same role he would of played in Boston. With Bradley out until Dec, Ray would of started until Bradley came back. Maybe Bradley would of had to earn the starting spot again? I think too many in the media has given Ray a pass, because of his nice guy routine. But everything that I've read about him gives me a different opinion about Allen. But Ray is gone and Celtics fans shouldn't care.

YES! YES! YES! and YES!

While I appreciate what he did here, I think booing him is just fine.

This isn't a Posey situation where Danny let him walk away; nor is it a Perk situation, where Danny traded him away.

Yes, Danny did almost trade him a couple of times.  But he didn't trade him.

And then this offseason, Danny offered him a contract worth twice what the Heat were offering him and Ray walked away to one of the Celtics' biggest rivals.

Ray brought this upon himself.  He deserves any grief the fans give him.

On point. TP.

He stuck it to the fans and to the organization because of sour grapes.

He's upset that he almost got traded? Quis GOT traded and still signed the year later. What happened to the "consummate professional"?

I think most fans did appreciate what he did here, we can't blame them for feeling betrayed by the move of "that guy".

I don't know if Ray should get booed or not.  I think that is up to however the individual fan feels.  I would probably give him a round of applause the first time he comes in, but I still hate it that he went to the heat.

But I think it will be a mix of cheers and boos when he comes back to Boston for his first visit here as a member of the heat.  A lot of fans will still be mad for sure...

Eventually though, after he retires I think he will be thought of more for the things he did for Boston than for bouncing over to Miami his last year or two.  By then everyone's emotions and vitroil will have subsided and he will be remembered for helping bring a banner here and for breaking the 3 point record here.

It's still a few months away.  I think Ray Allen's actions between now and then will crystallize how people here feel about him.

TBH, I don't care enough to boo... I wanted him traded for something that would benefit us, we basically did by picking up Lee.

He's just another player on the enemy to me now, I can't see him as an individual, he is a cHeat... that's it!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

We need Avery to be guarding Dwade, not Ray. Bradley is best utilized as an on ball defender . I think it's much more likely Ray will be covered by Lee and Terry  . I am sure he will guard Ray when Wade's not the game, but that won't be very often maybe 5-10 mins a game.

RH, While I understand what you mean, I think there will be many more minutes with a line up of Ray, Wade, Lebron, Bosh and X. X will be Battier, Haslem  or even Jones/Miller IMO.

This will put Rondo on Wade with Avery on Ray or one of the other wings. Even if they only match up for 10-12 mpg I think that will be enough for AB to make the point.

OMGz he almost got traded so he couldn't re-sign here?  :-X

If he isn't boo'ed for every single minute he touches the ball it will be a shame.

T-RAY-TOR.

He doesn't deserve an ounce of respect.

Yes. Time has not healed this wound for me.

I am in St. Lucia on my honeymoon right now and the CBS/NBC/ and ABC stations in the hotel pick up the Miami feeds for the news.

I woke up today to the morning news covering the Heat and seeing Ray interviewed as member of the Heat made me sick...Just think of the syrupy way the local news covers the Celtics and then think of Ray being interviewed on the Heat....yuk!

(Yes, I am on CB on my honeymoon in a caribean paradise...can I get a TP for that? New wife is napping lol)
