I think a lot of people underestimate Darko's offensive abilities. He's quite mobile for a 7-footer, and certainly isn't a stone-handed slug like Perk (whom I like, but let's be real). Whip him into shape on a contending Boston team, and he'll pay dividends—he won't average a double-double, but he'll be a solid offensive contributor as well as good rebounder and shot blocker.
A GOOD REBOUNDER?? hes never averaged over 6.1 rebounds combining off and def rebounds!! AND he was playing 20+ a game!
Hes a TERRIBLE rebounder!!!!!
I think what RocknRollForyoursoul means is that next to KG Darko will be a good rebounder and shot blocker, which I can certainly agree with.
The man is likely to put up very productive numbers on BOS...he won't be expected to come in here and put up a dbl-dbl.
He is (right now) - a third string center for us....now that COULD change if you get him into the right situation.
What other situation out there is better than BOS for someone like Darko? BOS is, IMO - the PERFECT team for him.
He will now be surrounded by vets like Paul, KG, Rondo and Jet, plus a top coach in Doc.
And I'm betting that he'll take one look up in those rafters and see those banners...this tradition...and the young man (27) will get serious about Basketball.
This COULD be a HUGE signing for BOS....and if not? BOS is still deep enough to move on, and it won't hurt us salary-wise.
I'm looking forward to Darko in Green!
