Celtics will DESTROY Heat - why?

wade will be turning 31 in January. that isnt super old, but for someone who relies on his athleticism, i believe it is old.

the heat are defending champs and got better and deeper in the offseason... granted we got miles better as well. its going to be a good eastern conference finals between the celts and heat this year.

I am more concerned about the Lakers and OKC than I am about Miami.

1. Lakers, if we meet them in the finals will just be an epic dog fight - because, well, it's the Lakers / Celtics.

2. OKC, will be much better this year in the playoffs than last because of their experience. But if we play D like we're capable of, I think we can grind them into submission.

3. The Heat? I just think we got "way" better this off season. We added:

Collins
Wilcox
Sully
Jeff Green
Courtney Lee
Jason Terry
Avery Bradley

...to a team that took Miami to seven last year.

I think two match ups will be significantly different and more challenging for Miami this year than the last two seasons.

A) A Healthy Paul Pierce AND Jeff Green on LeBron.

B) A healthy Avery Bradley AND Courtney Lee dogging Wade for 48.

Wade is going to struggle greatly against Avery Bradley mainly because he simply can't get by Avery consistently and he is not a great outside shooter.
Lee is a "good" defender and we can also bully Wade with Pierce when necessary.

Then you add in all the offensive weapons Rondo is going to have this year that he simply has not had in the past
(Green, Wilcox, Lee, Terry & Avery for a full season)

If we stay healthy I see us having a "very" good shot of knocking out Miami and going to the finals again.

The heat start and ends with lebron. You could pretty much substitute all of their players for whoever and they'd still be a top in the league. Just look at all those cavs teams lebron played for.

The Cavs teammates when Lebron was there had 3 point snipers, great rebounders, and all players were good defensively.. Don't let the media ruin your thinking

I didn't mean it as a dig at those Cavs teams.

Just saying we didn't think those Cavs teams were unstoppable and they were probably better than these Heat teams.

The Heat having Wade, Bosh, Ray doesn't really scare me much more than those Cavs teams because its all about Lebron.

I think Wade has just gone downhill the past couple years. Id certainly take Rondo over him and maybe even Pierce and KG even at their age. Not to mention KG and Pierces longevity will certainly surpass wades

Yeah I agree, the Heat's back court isn't anything special

And because Rondo totally neglects the offensive scoring side of basketball expect for some open layups, Wade is still the better player

I am curious - when does Stern call the refs in? Do you believe that he decided before the series who he wanted to win? Or before the season? Do you think that Stern chose the Celtics to win for 2008?

Miami Heat are favored for a reason. They crushed the Celtics in 2011, and beat them again in 2012 despite Bosh missing majority of the series. Although I'm Celtics fan, my money is on Miami Heat winning the EAST for 3rd straight year.
