Seriously, some people are never happy. Seems like you want him to throw cross-court passes and do double windmills from the 3pt line..

Remember that everyone called Pierce a fatso before we got drafted? And look at him now, a first ballot HOF.

Sullinger has great potential, and so do Xmas, Melo and Joseph. We just have to harness it and there we go..

When you lose, the easy part is to see who gives up. Giving up is very simple. You basically take your stuff and walk away. To continue to work and to continue to compete is one of the most difficult things, especially when you really don't have anything - KG

SUMMARIZE THEM AGAIN!!! YOUR FIRST SUMMARY DOESN'T FIT WITH MY OPINION!! I think is what he's trying to say.
That's like torturing the data until they give up the answers you want to hear.  A not infrequently used tactic.

You mean frequently
Absolutely nothing gets by you  ;).

Let's pile on!!!   The phrase is "you torture the data until it confesses."  :)
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I like how everyone is using his summer league averages to say he wont be good...as if performance in the summer league is a barometer of how you are goign to do in the NBA

forget the 2years of college games where he put up 17ppg, 9RPG and shot over 50%

time will tell is sullinger is going to be a steal, I think he will....but theres no use arguing..90% of this board thought avery bradley was horrible..

nba players >>>>> almost all summer league players
summer league players >>>>> almost all college players

and yet, theres been tons of players who have struggled in the summer league and then went on to have perfectly fine NBA careers...Derrick Rose being one of them...

theres a reason sullinger was a top 5 pick last year, and was supposed to be a top 10 pick this year(before his back was redflagged)

but, I guess just like Bradley this board will trash him until he proves them wrong..

Except that I'm not "this board," as I was on record as wanting bradley as soon as he became available at 19, considering he was the #1 high school prospect in the country. john wall was second. i don't know who wouldn't snatch that value but it wasn't me.

I like the Sullinger pick, I think he can average a double double in the NBA, but guess what?  your argument consisted entirely of a sample size of one player. also, derrick rose played in two games.  sullinger played in, what, ten? you need to consider sample size.

derrick rose dominated college = college players are ok
derrick rose struggled in SL = SL players are better
lastly, derrick rose ≠ jared sullinger

How you can say the guy can't shoot is beyond me. Even if it was true, as the OP says he has plenty of time to improve his shooting. Glen Davis could not shoot when he came in the league.

The things he does under the basket are just so old school. The are very few people that can do that anymore. He has amazing hands. Rondo will love feeding him in the post and letting him work. He will also have plenty of people to kick out to. Consensus is he will be a solid NBA player if he can stay healthy. Now we can pull stuff out of the air or we can look at the data, watch the games, read the scouting reports and have an informed opinion. Real question is how much does he want it.

People using Sully's summer league poor shooting percentages to "prove" that he is a bad shooter did not probably hear what one of the "announcer's" of the Orlando games said very early on (I  think in the first or second game.)

The commentator specifically said that Sully was taking shots outside his normal range per the coaching staff's plan and desire to strengthen that aspect of his game to make him even more versatile and hence difficult to guard. Sully continued this all through Orlando and Vegas.

Good strategy for the long term and his development but skews Sully's shooting percentages/efficiency downward in the short term.

Kid's a steal at 21.

i'm more concerned about his ability to score against players 6'10" and taller. everyone struggles against them but sully struggles mightily. there are some caveats to that disturbing shooting percentage and he got to the line enough to get his PPS to respectability.

i think he can be a double double guy but i'll be watching his post offense from the waist up and his 1 on 1 defense beyond simply denying position. i think those are the variables, and hopefully not the weaknesses, of his game. most everything else looks solid to above average at the NBA level.

Back in the 80's The Celtics used to have an nonathletic 6'9" guy who couldn't run very fast and I think he had a 28" vertical leap and a bad back......can't remember his name...

Michael Smith from BYU?

All the naysayers can talk about Jared Sullinger until you actually see him play. No one knows how good he will be in the NBA

I personally think he's going to be a great player. But I am just as right as people who think he'll be a bust. We don't know so we  can't naysay

Well, I guess its something to do for the summer

Not with the starters - or even Jet, JG, AB, etc, etc...

he was underwhelming in the summer league... terrible shooting percentages.  Struggled offensively.  Looked like a solid rebounder.

People pegged his ceiling as "poor man's Carlos Boozer"... seems like that might still be in play.

More like a non shooting , not as good passer
Poor mans Boris Diaw

get over rays departure. youve been criticizing ainge's guys after he left.

Thank you for posting this.
