Perhaps you're over reacting? 2x2 inch adds aren't going to poison the game of basketball. I mean I wouldn't want them to come straight out with giant logos plastered all over the Celtics uniform, but a small patch similar to the 'NBA finals' logo you see on uniforms in the finals seems okay for a trial year at least.
Yes it will. It's not going to stay that way for years. They're starting small because it is exactly what it is: small. It's not going to be noticeable but once we get used to the idea of ads on the jersey, it's only going to grow. Remember when Americans threw a fit that gas prices were above $3? Now we're just glad when it's under $3.40. For corporates, you start somewhere. And don't forget Stern released that news at midnight when everyone was sleeping.
It's not just more money for the rich, it's more exposure for basketball and more money for the players and owners.
Could give players a better shot at outside endorsements too.

What other sport? NASCAR? They don't have commercials. Soccer? Ditto. Golf? You call that a sport? Moving on.
At the end of the day it's not going to change a players ability to play the game- it's a tiny jersey patch that could generate a boatload of income for the league and its players, which only makes the league stronger and able to expand their reach.
If you're going to turn off the TV because of a 2x2 inch Pepsi logo then you need to consider taking a holiday.
You're right the ad won't change the nature of the game. I'm going to enjoy watching the game but that ad on the jersey is not going to simply be an ad to me. It's going to be a representation of the greed, it's going to represent $100 million more for the owners and a
Edited. Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ed up looking jersey for the fans. Brand loyalty is a strong thing and fans are going to associate themselves with the brand before the jersey.
Never said anything about turning off the TV. It is what it is though, and that is disgusting.
