A question?

When is the Free Agency period is gonna start? And how may players do we need to have for our roster?

At noon.  One FA add per day.  You can have a max of 13 eligible players.

One FA add per day, but two adds max.

So you could make one move friday and one move saturday, or one move friday and one move sunday, etc...

Rockets trade: Tyreke Evans + Reggie Evans + J.J. Redick

for

Mavericks Trade: Thabo Sefolosha + Aaron Brooks  + Tyler Zeller

This seems to me like an awful return for Evans alone.
I know you have CP3 on your team and are obviously a big fan but Reggie Evans isn't a good basketball player  ;).

LOL. You got me. Could this be the only time someone mistook Reggie for Tyreke?
Isn't it sad that Reggie Evans has been more relevant to the NBA this year than Tyreke

I would say Reddick alone is better than anybody than the mavs are sending back.  Werent Zeller and Brooks 12th and 13th round picks.

Im all for Nick running his team how he wants but I don't think it should be able to prop up other teams like this.

exactly this trade should of gotten vetoed doesnt make any sense
Says the guy that was offering the most egregiously lopsided trades to me by the hundreds throughout this endeavor. Kinda strange you should be the first calling for a veto after the deal I gave you.

I'm going to ask the Commish to void our trade.  While nick and I negotiated in good faith, I don't want to be seen as "breaking" the game.  I want this to be fun for everyone, and if folks think they're getting screwed, I'd rather just run with the team we had pre-trade.

Roy and I will both support a veto, even if he had to talk me into it.

Tyreke and JJ still on the block as they have been.

Don't want to call foul and call for vetos then come correct with offers and stop with the ridiculously low offers.

Bulls trade Nikola Vucevic, Tiago Splitter and Jrue Holiday

Rockets trade Marcin Gortat and Jeremy Lin
That is an interesting trade.

Gortat doesn't have much long term value in Houston with Jonas Valanciounas there. Splitter can be an interim starter for a year or so while Valanciounas gets his legs under him in the NBA before taking over the starter's role. Vucevic gives you a third string C who'll probably never play.

I think swapping Gortat for Jrue Holiday is a good move. Comparable current value. Holiday is younger and looks to have more room for improvement. Better long term value.

Jeremy Lin was a very weak fit on Houston's team with Tyreke Evans there. He wasn't going to add much to the Rockets. Disappointing that nobody offered Nick more for Lin after Lin being part of some bigger trades earlier in the draft ... but Splitter adds just as much if not more to Houston than Lin did in that situation.

Net positive for Houston.

------------------------------------

For Chicago, I hate seeing Jeremy Lin back. I would start Jarrett Jack over Lin and bring Lin off the bench. Lin is that poor a fit in the Bulls starting unit. Not sure how I feel about Lin as your backup guard. I'll have to think on that some more.

It's pretty much just a swap of Jrue for Gortat and B.Haywood for J.Jack in the starting lineup + Splitter for Lin on the bench.

At first glance, that looks to me to be more of a lateral move than a significant improvement. I'll think some more on it though.

Do you dislike Tyreke Evans? Is that why you are trying to move him?

I think a Jrue + Tyreke backcourt has an interesting symmetry to it.

Pretty much how I saw it. I've got a starting quality PG as my backup, and I could improve my center position.

I have always wanted to have Tyreke Evans on my team but I can't make it work with my current roster. He is too flawed a player. You really need to be building around from early on to get the mix of talent right for him to succeed.

Maybe next year I'll get Tyreke ... I finally got Kirilenko this year. AK-47 has been a long time target of mine. So one down, more to go.

Looks like Rebus and I may need to make another move or two to keep pace with IP's new squad.

We'll (re)open trade talks today, for those who are interested.

Don't ask us to trade one of our guys for two of yours. That's not what we're looking to do.
