Seriously guys? Seriously stop.
1. Does nobody else realize how bad Dooling was for the majority of the season? He was completely inept. He showed up 3-4 times in the playoffs, but essentially he's not a factor. We can find someone else for the minimum that can easily replicate what he provided on the floor.
2. If we're cautioning each other about Joseph, we better be doing the same about Christmas, Smith, etc... I don't care if they're in camp, I don't think guys like that belong on a team like this. Gaffney, Lafayette, Lasme, etc. didn't make the other contending Celts' teams out of camp for a reason.
3. Some of the names I'm seeing...

SMH...Baron Davis? That injury and pundits wishing him well was the toast of ESPN programming for an entire week. You think he's coming back from THAT for this season? Please tell me you didn't miss it. As for Battie, is he still alive? I know he logged a few games for the Sixers this year, but he was more or less irrelevant. I'd rather have Christmas on stilts with pillows in his jersey than Battie.
4. Pietrus probably isn't coming back. He's pretty undeserving of the praise he receives on here for a lot of last year. He's a poor shot selector and often was not a shot maker. But as many have mentioned he wasn't at full health, and he is not without value. Like many have said though, he'll probably want more $ and PT. If you were him would you come back for 5-10 mins a game and presumably the minimum?
5. Likewise, when we went out and got Courtney Lee, doesn't that make Delfino redundant? Especially if Pietrus should decide to return? Also, what do we have to offer for a trade to get Delfino? I'm stumped there. Dooling? After the deterioration he showed with his outside shot (the major staple of his game) last year, only Celtics fans are standing in line to get him. Nobody else is really interested in him. Not enough to part with a better player just to acquire his locker room services.
6. Some of the names of the bigs that are being floated on here are hilarious. Darko is probably an improvement over an empty chair on the sideline, but not over Stiemsma at this point. Granted it might be hard to keep Stiemsma, but I think Darko is an option for after we've exhausted other options. And that's even if he's interested in the first place. Craig Smith? The Rhino? C'Mon! He is a replica of nearly any other smallish-big in the NBA, including two already on our roster. Kenyon Martin? More of a PF, and we need a C, but also probably unlikely at veteran's minimum and for the PT we can offer. Blatche? Well, I mean if we could harvest his talent and get the vets to make him less of a head case, sure. I'm all for it. I'm just not sure Andray Blatche doesn't do his own thing regardless. I don't for one second believe that the vets on this team will allow a locker room to turn with the addition of one guy, even this guy. That's kind of silly when you think of it. And if it did happen, if he were coming on the minimum, it's no risk. If management caught wind of a disconnect in the locker room like that, they'd pack his bags faster than I finish this sentence (sorry airline security personnel).
7. Bringing back Daniels or Pavlovic is silly. Daniels was a failed signing and he's been brought back so many times if for nothing else because of a lack of exterior options given the Celtics' cap issues over the last couple of years. He's cheap, he's loyal and he plays good defense, yes. But at this point, he is also a non-factor on this roster. As for Pavlovic, don't get me started. Bring him up again when he isn't allergic to good shots and defense. That some have said he's a good defensive player makes me do this face.

I know I didn't really offer up many options, just criticisms of previous options, so here you go...
Here is the list of available centers I think we should choose from (note: these are in order):
Stiemsma
Nazr Mohammed (though he is expected to soon sign with the Nets for the vet min)
Ronny Turiaf (who just opted out of MIA's vet min option, but agent wants to pursue more $)
And...that's about the pick of the litter. Pretty much all the good big guys have been snapped up.
Guard: I don't really subscribe to the idea that we need a real impact guard to fill out the roster, but here are a couple who are available that can play the 1 and would be good for us. Flynn is probably going to latch on somewhere where he can get some PT though.
Johnny Flynn
Janero Pargo
Delonte West (only because he is the most unlikely. Several teams will be interested at the vet min, if not a little higher)
