The lakers do get hooked up on the trade front though no denying it.

We've done decent with free agents but not really with trades (Obv minus our 1rivals blockbuster where we did give up a lot for 2 stars in their 30's on the decline)

Well, I wouldn't rule out Lee yet, though it did shock me that some people seemed to think that Dallas was going to leap at the opportunity to acquire a late second round pick from us.  

That's not to say that we can't work out something eventually, but it's certainly not a valued commodity.

If no Lee, I'd look at bringing back Pietrus or Dooling (Dooling can play some 2).  Once Bradley comes back, Terry will eat up most of the minutes backing up the 1 and 2, so either of those guys would have value given how well they know the system.  And with Green here, there really isn't going to be any time for whomever we do sign to slide to the 3. 

I also like McGrady.  He proved last year that he still has some game, and given that he'd be relegated to the 9th or 10th man spot at best once Bradley comes back, I think he'd more than suffice.

Early in the summer we shoulda acted quickly on Lee or Mayo with a take it or leave it & offered Gerald Green what they wouldn't take. Now we are left high & dry & at this point I want T-Mac or through trade Jimmer Freddette. It's clear he will have no role in Sac this year with Aaron Brooks, Isiah Thomas & Evans. Maybe they'll take JJJ & Bobcats 2nd.

hey..if they can get pietrus for the BAE..then that would be great news. He can start at the 2 until AB comes back...can play both the 2/3...good defender and when healthy can score...he would fill in nicely...

Maybe I'm just being naive, but I've been under the impression that Pietrus would come back for a bag of balls and an official Celtics water bottle—and I'm basing that on how he's sounded in all his interviews since the season ended. I guess I've been figuring he'd be happy with the BAE if it meant the chance to keep playing with KG.

Yeah, I get the same impression.  I definitely think Pietrus would take the BAE, and could even possibly be wooed with a 20% raise (since that would be slightly more than the vet min).

The only reason it hasn't happened is Danny is being Danny.  He knows he's got a fall back option, so he searches for the elusive "better deal" first.  The only problem is, sometimes the fall back option gets tired of waiting.

He didn't have a great season I'm sure hell take it, and if healthy he will earn a check the following year like you saw with Bass. I doubt teams are knocking down Pietrus door and throwing a bunch of cash at him.
