The Mayo deal is being reported as a two year deal, with the second year being a player option.

If that's true (i.e., no third year), then this can't be a S&T.

Wow, Roy, your knowledge of the CBA is so impressive.

I have to admit that you lost me quite a few posts ago, though.

Who has those details? I haven't seen any numbers reported yet

CBA can be a confusing thing.

So the Mavs got Mayo for $4 million? Wow

[dang] he's a good reporter. It just doesn't make sense why Mayo would sign for 4 million when he could have gotten 8-10 million or something absurd from the Suns

Heh, I'm not heartbroken about Mayo at all.  He's an alright player who sometimes looks like he could be more but just hasn't.

Jeff Green is commonly referred to as a jack of all trades, master of none type player, which I find inaccurate since he's a jack of none, master of none but Mayo is that type.  He doesn't have a stand out, elite skill but can shoot, pass and defend decently. Even his height falls under that heading since he's neither tall for his position or too small. His ballhandling on the other hand is not guard quality.

That's a steal for Dallas man. Somehow if Howard makes it to Free Agency next year - and has no interest staying with his team - then they could potentially have a nice trio of Dirk, Mayo, and Dwight. Lol for a year or two I guess.

I would be interested in Josh Childress. He is getting his money. He is long and athletic. Still young. Would be cheap and might fit in nicely with us. Otherwise it looks like Pietrus is coming back to be the starting 2 guard until Bradley comes back.

What about bringing Delonte West back? He'd probably come back for low money and he can play both pg and sg

I would like that. He certainly has familiarity with Terry and some of our guys.

I think I had Mayo going for $6mil/yr.  I have to say I did pretty well guessing what amount players would sign for this off season.  Now I kind of wish I'd guessed more.

Just talked to Jeff Caplan on twitter and he said with the signing of Mayo the Mavericks ability to S&T Terry drastically decreased. Looks like Danny Ainge will have to look elsewhere for a miracle

It might be time for a "Christmas miracle."

Plus with OJ Mayo off the market the Suns will likely drastically overpay for Courtney Lee now.

I am sure Phoenix or Minnesota will end up with Lee. We are looking at West, Pietrus, or Childress.
