Ray, doesn't look guilty, but doesn't look ecstatic either.
He never looks extatic, from what I can tell.

I think he made a poor decision, all things considered -- but then again, the "all things" I'm aware of are not exhaustive.

Can't say I'm particularly upset though -- I think we'll be forced to retool a little bit, possibly taking on some younger talent. That can't be bad.

So yeah, no more Ray daggers, but also no more running him off screens for 15 seconds. Here's to hoping that Terry still has something left in the tank.

Ray will have a lot of running to do. He thinks Rondo is bad. Wait until Wade, James and Chalmers get a hold of a break. The Heat fast-breaks a lot.

Still think Ray Allen was apart of something especial in Boston. Just sad he left on bad terms. Oh well, it what it is!  :-\

R.I.P. Clogged Toilet half-court offense, we hardly knew you. Going to miss Rondo pounding the ball on the floor at the top of the key for the entire shot clock.

Makes no sense whatsoever. If you're going to take a discount to play in Miami, please don't blame it on the GM who made you an offer that was better financially in every respect.
This has been like Hanukkah. Every 24 hours we get a gift that makes it harder for Allen apologists to keep defending him.

I suspect those possessions will be over before Ray can even get into them. I rather anticipate a lot of sitting in the corner twiddling his thumbs.

Best season from a team I've seen -- a rare case where everyone tried to play the game the right way, from the stars to the last role player. It's a shame we could never go back to that level of play, even when we were 1 quarter away from a second title.

Given the peculiarities of the cap and the big MLE, I anticipate it may be the last roster move we'll make official this offseason.

I hate to say it...

But people are sounding like Cavs fans who were overanalyzing LeBron during Miami's Press conference saying "He doesnt look as happy. You can tell he's got some guilt on his face" etc etc.

Maybe, maybe not. Who cares? He's in Miami.

Agreed. He's sad at the reaction of Boston... but in the end, he wants to be there and he is.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

I sent a text out to KG when I was leaning towards Miami... KG said "well Danny will step up to the plate" I said: "We'll see."

Think about this for a minute.

Even though it was in the context of describing his conversation with KG, and wanting to let his teammates know where his mind was, the statement in and of itself implicitly implies his leaving for Miami was Danny's fault.  Basically, had Danny done more, Ray would still be here.

Nice Ray, try to blame it on Danny (albeit, in a very sly manner).

Wyc was in the radio the other day saying ray asked for a number they couldn't give. He wouldn't answer what that number was but weren't there reports saying 3/27 mil?

Wyc did jokingly say that ray would have come back for the max.

Clearly ray was asking for something ridiculous from the celts that he knew they wouldn't match and it probably makes leaving a little easier

Riley hopes to retire Ray's number in the rafters in Miami.

P.Riley sells better than a sale's man. Hang, Ray's jersey in Miami when he'll be playing their for 2yrs and coming off the bench. You and I know that's bull, Pat. lol

He retired Jordan's number and he never played a game for the Heat - Ray will have a resume as long as Atlas Shrugged by comparison.

I think he will always be remembered fondly, like Posey. But He'll no longer be held in the light with Rondo, Pierce, KG.

Ray was so determined to stick it to the Celtics. Well, the Celtics are more than management. They are also his former teammates and fans. He's underestimated how much he has burned the fans. At least Posey left for more money.

If he felt dissed after a time in Boston, just imagine how life will be in the shadow of James and Wade and Bosh and Chalmers and Battier...

Mmm no...He probably will retire it...he retired MJ's....who never played for the heat...now Ray is clearly no MJ but i think pat easily could hang it out of career respect

Spoelstra may be a nice guy. Hell, he may even be a decent coach. But all I want to do when I see his face is punch it....a feeling that only intensifies when he speaks. If I could just connect on one punch I think I'd feel better and I would be able to move on. And if I happened to accidentally take out Chalmers with said punch, even better.

That's also Ray's way of saying that if Danny had done more, then the Rondo issue (as well as other issues) could have been an afterthought if he was offered a bigger contract with more years.

He probably wanted to feel the Celtics would be willing to go the extra mile to retain his services, but then realized he wasn't gonna be rewarded with a better offer. I'm sure he realized he was gonna the 6th highest paid player on the team behind PP, KG, RR, Green and Bass.  At that point, pride probably set in and he either wanted 3 years at $27M or he was gone.
We all think we know more than we really do....

If that wasn't enough to boo ray out of the Garden then I don't know what is. Either he's meant to mock the team or not, he should have not said that when he knows the fans that he moved on from HATES the team he's playing for now.

Well done, Ray.
