I dont see Lewis making them much better. What he gives you in streaky shooting he takes away in defense. More Lewis equals less Battier or Haslem.
Perhaps he is just Bosh, Haslem, Battier insurance.
I think that is exactly what it is. I don't see him getting off the bench much there.
Yeah, but they don't need him to come off the bench much and when you are talking about a deep rotation type player, Lewis is a better 10th man (or whatever) than most teams have.
The time to beat Miami was their first two years, they are only going to get better and better until Wade starts to appreciably tail off due to age.
And perhaps before they finally just gave in and played Bosh at C and went small.
Let's not just give Miami 2 or 3 more rings just yet. Even with the injury to Bosh, they couldn't have asked for a better path to the title than what they got this year. NY loses Amare to injury, DRose goes down with an injury, Boston loses 4 of their top 10 players at the start of the season to injury, Thunder clearly not ready for their moment in the spotlight.
Mike
Come on don't be silly. They were only ever going to face one of Boston/Chicago, two teams they had beaten fairly easily the year before. If Bosh isn't injured, Miami beats Boston in 5 or 6 games and has no issue with any other team in the East. Period.
Oklahoma City just doesn't match up well with Miami. They don't have the players in the right places to consistently beat the Heat. Sure they may have been a bit young, but they did sweep the defending champs, knock the Lakers out in 5 (who had been in the finals the 3 years before dallas), and beat the best team in basketball in 6 (winning the last 4 games).
In fact until this season the Western Conference representative in every single NBA finals since the Bulls beat the Jazz in 97-98 has been the Lakers, Spurs, or Mavericks. All three of those teams were beaten soundly by Oklahoma City this past season. Let's not act like it was some fluke they made it to the Finals or that they couldn't handle the big time. They were just soundly beaten by the better team. Period.
