The Orlando Magic have reopened negotiations with teams other than the Brooklyn Nets for Dwight Howard, a league source told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher.

The Atlanta Hawks are one of the teams but "not the best option," the source said.

Mostly because the current Nets offer would be the worst return for a superstar in NBA history.

Would love to find out why the Hawks aren't the best option, because they absolutely are.

Yeah, that Zach Lowe tweet did make me LOL.

Houston still has everything the Magic need: picks, prospects, financial relief.

Ha ha.

I'd be happy to see DH land in Houston--even and especially if it doesn't thrill David Stern.

The only thing that Stern might be happy about is that Dwight will have not succeeded in dictating his own trade location.  It's gotta be p---ing him off a bit that these stars keep not only demanding trades, but then trying to dictate where they go.

If Brooklyn and Orlando are to make a deal for Howard in near-term, it will likely be a trade between the two teams, sources tell Y! Sports.

So...go Houston, its your birfday?

The source could be someone in Howard's camp.

So Orlando is now going to take back Hump?  You mean, he didn't want to play in Cleveland so Brooklyn could acquire the best center in the league??? SHOCKING!

According to Twitter reports, Cleveland is out.

Also a single report that Bobcats may be willing to give Humphries a multi-year contract.

The Hawks would be one of my favorite Howard destination.  Not a ridiculously imbalanced trade like the Nets offer, not the Lakers.

Horford, Teague and picks is a good offer.  An all-star big man locked up on a very affordable contract for several years, a mid-tier PG prospect and some mid-to-late first rounders.  That at least stands up pretty well to the Lakers' Bynum and nothing else offer.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

I can't imagine Orlando taking back Humphries.

Honestly I can't what Orlando is doing at all anymore.

Houston would've likely given up Lowry, Kevin Martin's expiring, the rights to Royce White, Terrance Jones, and more on top of that.

And they would've done it without all the drama, and would've taken Dwight Howard out of conference.

I mean...what is Orlando thinking?

Try as he may, I still don't think Houston has what it takes. Everything they have is just too 'meh.'

Orlando NEEDS TO come away with Bynum here. I'd accept nothing less.

I agree in theory but apparently he would walk after according to him so that's not neccessarily the best option.

If you can get Horford and he will stay that's better.

I agree.  I seriously hope they aren't trying to follow Dwight's wishes.

They seem possibly to be fixated on getting back a C. You are going to be in full rebuild, your team is awful besides Dwight and no one is putting a real star on the table, so you need to just collect assets regardless of position.
