The darn Heat "fans" keep saying that having Bosh would make their victory "inevitable".

Man, those Heat "fans" sure love talking trash. I cannot believe I overlooked this fact though...

April 1, 2012.

72-91. Celtics handed the cHeat their arses.

We're talking the Heat at full force.

We had no Ray Allen on top of the "usual" string of injuries.

Wade brushed it off because it was "April Fools".

By the end of the series with the cHeat, we had 4 healthy players. KG, Rondo, Bass and Keyon Dooling. On top of that 1/3rd of a Ray, 1/3rd of a Paul Pierce and 1/3rd of Pietrus.

Forget the refs...

Because next season we'd get Wilcox, Jeff Green, AB, Jason Terry and the other 2/3rds of Paul Pierce.

And the rooks. A more seasoned Jajuan Johnson, Fab Melo and Sully.

Don't forget the free agnecy is not over either. We could have Stiemsma and Pietrus at 100% next season. Or we could sign and trade/sign other players.

This team has beaten the cHeat at full force.

Even with something as astronomically unlikely as two perfectly healthy young players getting heart problems and the rest of the roster falling apart with that injury bug, we took the cHeat to 7 games with an extremely depleted roster (it's not the loss of Bosh vs Bradley; it's Bosh vs half our rotation).

We got younger, bigger, faster, meaner this year.

While I love your post and optimism....

Our biggest problem will be our health. I agree that we shouldn't have players go down with heart issues, but we are still relying on an old KG and an old Pierce to get through the season healthy while being a year older.

If we can get to the finish line healthy I completely agree we have more than just a shot at knocking out Ray Allen and the Heat.

That is the spirit, and you cannot underestimate the power of the commish. I dont know why mmost people do not remember how we were worked by the refs in game 2. That was our game and we blew out wad in that game. There is a reason we did that, and there is a reason that was the game the commish could not allow the Celtics to get. It would have changed everything.

The last three seasons Doc has carved a strategy not to exhaust energy playing for home court during the latter part of the season because of the ages of our key players. All we need to secure home court during the playoffs is to steal one of the first two games. That is why Rondo played all 38 minutes of regulation in game 2. That is why we had to have game 2.

Once the commish secured game 2 for the Heat I really believed it was over and the Celtics almost proved me wrong. But dont ever believe it was not about that game 2. All the statistics point to game 2 as a must win for the Celtics. The commish knew that, and the fix was in.

that is why we have all been stressing how we must have a good bench this year. We cannot expect PP and KG to log the time they did in the past....with them fresh it prevents injury and their intensity stays at a high rate when they are in along with productivity. They must be fresh and healthy for the playoffs along with the rest of our team.

Hopefully, they won't play as much as they were forced to last season (and so many games in a short span)... should help to lessen the chance of injuries.

Also, who's to say Ray or Wade will be healthy... both are coming off of surgeries (Ray is old and Wade is no spring chicken to begin with either). We could have beaten the cHeat with our hobbled team if Boshina hadn't returned even with all the credit they lapped on LeBrinda (yes, game 6 was key but he was regular Brinda before that)... Boshina was their true MVP. I know no one feels that way except me apparently... but we beat them w/o Bosh!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

A year from now, I'll look back at this thread and I believe it will read:

"Why Boston BEAT the Heat"

We'll have the weapons - Danny's making sure of that.

I just wish Ray could've been on the Green side.

Yep, I'm hoping KG's regular season minutes are around 25ish with him resting on back to backs and Pierce at 29-30.

The ECF series should have been over in 5 games.  This is not based on excuses, but rather the simple fact that Boston was the better team in games 2-5.

Besides, ain't nobody afraid of Chris Bosh.  Guy is soft as butter and usually struggles against Boston when KG is in his face.

Sounds good to me  ;D

I can't believe I forgot to mention the Jet. A quality play maker off the bench, something we haven't had since Delonte (who was also injured).

They were at full strength as well for the one after that in Miami, that they lost 115 to 107; and they were behind by over 10 points most of the game, as I recall.

Also, regarding last years playoffs with the Heat, in addition to Wade braking Rondo’s arm in the 3rd game, Pierce was ejected early in the 2nd game for an unwarranted reason; Heat fans and the sports media will never bring that up. That will never happen to LBJ or Wade.
