Team harmony is of paramount importance. The moment Jason Terry was signed the potential loss of Ray Allen was softened. The onus is now on Ainge and Rivers to find a reliable contributor on the bench. Ultimately, it may work out for the better in the long run.

No one else in NBA history has broken more hearts than Ray Allen.
you cannot possibly be serious about this point.

Well, name me the True, Ice-Cold Clutch shooters in the game, then.

Kobe Bean Bryant and Walter Ray Allen.

If I'm wrong, then provide me links, statistics, etc to prove it.

kobe actually misses a TON of those shots. its just that he takes every one of them. i mean, yeah, i will concede that ray allen getting an open look at the end of a game is dangerous, but ray allen needs a lot of help to get an open look these days (along with a lot of time on the shot clock to run off all those screens - or a great play designed by doc, which he no longer will have).  on our team, pierce has made many more game winners than ray. again, not saying ray is a bad option (if he can get open), but your comment is ridiculous hyperbole. you're also ignoring a lot of history when you make a comment like that. would you rather have ray or bird take a game-ending shot? um...bird, every time.

  Larry Bird? MJ?

And go ahead and post the links and stats that prove Ray to be the most clutch shooter ever so people will know the kind of stats you're looking for.

Well, here's Ray's.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/plus/shot_finder.cgi?request=1&player_id=allenra02&match=single&year_id=&is_playoffs=&team_id=&opp_id=&game_num_min=0&game_num_max=99&game_month=&game_location=&game_result=&shot_pts=&is_make=Y&shot_type=&shot_distance_min=&shot_distance_max=&q1=Y&q2=Y&q3=Y&q4=Y&q5=Y&time_remain_minutes=2&time_remain_seconds=0&time_remain_comp=le&margin_min=&margin_max=&is_tying=Y&is_go_ahead=Y&c1stat=&c1comp=ge&c1val=&c2stat=&c2comp=ge&c2val=&c3stat=&c3comp=ge&c3val=&order_by=fg

And Kobe's:

Pretty impressive - especially Ray's.

Too bad basketball-reference only goes back to 2001-2012.

For starters, you're looking at the last 2 minutes of every quarter, I'd have thought that you'd be most interested in the 4th quarter and overtime. Also, to nitpick, when you go to pages like that on basketballreference they have something near the top that says "make tiny url". Clicking on that for Ray's page gives you a link like http://bkref.com/tiny/NoKLH .

Beyond that, it took me one try to find a player that has hit more of those clutch shots (either last 2 minutes of all quarters or 4th quarter and overtime) than Ray, although it was a fairly educated guess. I went with Paul Pierce.

Haha. Didn't know if you wanted last 2 mins of all quarters (http://bkref.com/tiny/e9g64) or last 2 mins of 4th quarter and ot (http://bkref.com/tiny/GZ5l3). Should have just put in both.

Ouch.  Pierce has averaged .325 in the last 2 minutes of the 4th or overtime over the last three years.

This query shows Jeff Green to have been by far the best clutch shooter of any Celtics player in '10-'11:

While Jesus was saying all the right things in regard to coming to the Heat it seems he took less money to get away from Rondo.

And if that is the case, I am glad he left because Rondo is 50-times more important to our team than Ray Allen, and if Rondo will play better (and be a better teammate) with him gone I am all for it.

So, I'm not convinced this is accurate - because I can remember Ray missing a potentially game winning shot.

That said, he is obviously "clutch." Is that what the Celtics would have been paying him for? To be clutch at the end of games?

That's surely a quality in a player I'm sorry to lose. ...still, even with the data presented, you can see that, throughout his time with the Celtics (during which Rondo was a key contributor) 85% of those clutch shots were assisted. So hope springs eternal.

He searched for all made shots, I searched for all shots, made or missed. Paul's fg%on those late game shots is about the same as Ray's, but he's taken (and made) more.

You're the one making false claims so maybe YOU should provide a link to backup your ridiculous made up statement.

Well, all I'll say is - BOS had better hope that Ray doesn't come back and bite us in the rears.

Yep...he's older...slower...not quite the same Ray we've been used to.

But whoever that "young, in-their-prime" BOS guard who lets Ray kill them from the outside in the future is -

I'll make sure I start a thread on that one.

"Why did Rondo, or_______(whoever) let Ray hit that Heat Game winner?"

Man I hope I won't have to do that. But you KNOW Spo and Co will be looking to draw up some plays for Ray - especially vs BOS.

And PLEASE Rondo, AB, Jet, Paul, etc  - Don't let Ray get the ball in his hands with the clock winding down in the 4th quarter - game on the line - series up for grabs.

No one else in NBA history has broken more hearts than Ray Allen.

Always love the people who come here to gloat when the Celts lose.

Don't get me wrong - I certainly hope that such threads WON'T happen here.

But BOS had better make sure they won't.

The same exact reasons why some wanted him gone, even before last night, are the exact same reasons to still fear Ray Allen.
LOL! nobody fears ray allen are you kidding me. Sure he can knock down 3's but so can alot of players in the NBA calm down.

This kind of reminds me of the guy that when dumped by the amazing girlfriend says "I was getting tired of her anyway!". Please people. Ray was a class act, an amazing player, and someone that would have helped us the next couple years.

It's one thing to be upset that he is gone. It's another though to act like the guy wasn't someone we needed. I think Danny's offer proved how much the team felt we needed him.
