I don't think Ainge ever expected Allen to resign after they got Terry.  Between Rondo, Terry and Bradley where would Ray's minutes come from?  Ray isn't an idiot he's got the chance to play more in Miami and and he's got a better chance of winning.

Ray proved Danny right for shopping him at the trade deadline.  He was trying to get something for his expiring deal.  Instead, he's left with nothing.  Too bad Danny couldn't pull the trigger for Mayo during the season ... perhaps would've won us a title this past year, as a hobbled Ray was a big-time liability in the playoffs.  Oh well.

And Kobe did the right thing by chasing Shaq away from LA cause he won 2 more afterwards...

2. Danny tried in 2 last season to trade Ray close to trade line market on Februare...What does it mean?! We do not need you Ray
3. Ray lost the starting status during this season. What does it mean?! We do not need you Ray. Plus that you can not be hipocrit telling that Ray was asumed in BIG3 team(?!) Strange

Yes, Ray had a fantastic 13 Efficiency Rating in Game 7.  That was one point away from his high for the series, +14, which he did twice.  He had an Efficieny Rating of 10.43 for the series vs. the Heat.  Yes, we certainly should have paid him 9 million a year for three stinking years.  (Oh, and don't forget making him ONLY the third player in the league with a NO TRADE clause:-)))

The sad thing, though, is that by the time Ray had asked for 9 mil per yr, the damage had already been done...

The damage had been building up for a while to this point. I bet Danny could've offered Ray the world and his mind was already made up.

Even THEN, Ray was evidently torn...sure he made his decision lat night, but it's not like he bought a house in MIA on Thursday night.

He heard Pat Riley's presentation, left on the plane, got back to BOS, and thought about it.

Reports said he was torn, even at that point.

So even after all that, he was still considering BOS.

He made his choice. I don't agree with his choice, but I understand it. I think he will come to regret it, especially after BOS beats MIA, but in the end I think he believes he made the right choice - not only for him, but his family.

What is he, 14 years old?  It's a NBA GMs job to shop his players.  Every Celtic was shopped.  You don't see them selling out and joining the franchise that's made a mockery of the league. 

I equate players taking less money to chase a ring equivalent to the parents of the 3 best players in a little league colluding to have their kids play together ... it pretty much makes a mockery of any fair competition.  Ray perpetuated this.

He left because his feelings were hurt ... this has nothing to do with my feelings.  I just stated that Ray proved Danny right.  Danny was totally right to shop a player.  That's his job.  For Ray to then get his feelings hurt and leave for that reason only (and because he's jealous of Rondo), thereby tarnishing his legacy ... you have to admit, he's pretty immature.

  If he was really torn about the decision he wouldn't have insisted on so much more money from Boston. If you were offered a new job and told your current boss you'd consider staying if he paid you *much* more than what you were leaving to get nobody would say you were torn over what you wanted to do.

For me it IS important where he went.

This is like being a Red Sox and going to the Yankees.

This is like being a Redskin and going to the Cowboys.

No one blames Ray for wanting to leave. He had his reasons. We can understand to a degree.

But man, you don't just go and join your most hated rival and expect everyone to be understanding of it. I could of understood almost any other team he went to.....

What a slap in the face to the Celtics going to the Heat.  David Stern would love to throw it in the Celtics face to schedule the Celtics to play the Heat when they raise their banner, get their rings, and watch Judas Allen coming off the bench to beat them with a 3. Not only did we lose an emotional 7 game series to them, but we got robbed in game 2 of that series and who knows we could of been raising the banner in Boston. All I can hope is when the Heat come to Boston, we chant JUDAS the entire game!!!
