I'm not too beat up about this either. I would have liked it better if Ray had gone somewhere else instead of Miami so I could root for him but these things happen. As far Ray and the Celtics, I was ready for them to move on from Ray. It had gotten to the point that his stature on the team had exceeded his level of play and I don't know if things would have been different had he returned. I'm just glad I don't have to watch Ray struggle to free himself around screens anymore. It was great to see when he first got here as he was still quick and spry and could dust defenders but he had lost that ability. Nobody seemed willing to stop running Ray's former bread and butter play. The games I enjoyed most last season unfortunately were those that Ray missed.
The Celts have really needed another shot creator besides Rondo and Pierce these past two years. When Ray could create shots for himself by running, there was less of a need but with his decline, they've needed someone who could create offense out of nothing. Terry is a much better fit than Ray right now in their careers.
