Ray Allen considered Pat Riley's presentation the past two days in Miami as "incredible," source says. "They sold him in every way."

yeah pat can really do some cool animations in power point

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
Imagine if we DID do the trade and got Mayo...
I like Marcus Smart

If this is true, then Rondo/AB/Jet had better not let Ray bite us in the behinds next time we play.

The only way Ray makes a meaningful impact against us is if Lebron and Wade are already destroying us.  He's going to be completely dependent on them and in the half court offense will never do anything besides camp out behind the 3 point line.  Which will be a win for the Heat since we'll have to guard him instead of flood the lane, but he won't make any statistical impact.

Ray is 100% dependent on flawless execution, multiple screens, and perfect passes to get off a quality shot.  The Heat can not do that, which has always been their greatest flaw- half court offense.

Ray was 100% dependent on flawless execution and screens as a Celtic this year, because nobody on the Celtics could draw an extra defender to them consistently. Miami doesn't suffer from that problem. In addition to screens, the Heat can get Ray open shots by having LeBron and Wade draw double teams.

Anyways, there was always some separation from Ray and the rest of the team.

Pierce and Ray have butted heads in the past, and KGs and Rays styles are fundamental opposites of each other.  On top of that, there has to be SOME dispute between Rondo and Ray as Doc has acknowledged it, and none of Ray/Rondo/PP/KG have disputed it.

Loved Ray here and wish he were back, but honestly, our team isn't that much worse without him.  It just simply was a loss of a role player we had come to love, and to top it off, he went to the Heat.

Yep - it's official:

http://espn.go.com/nba/truehoop/miamiheat/story/_/id/8137389/ray-allen-leaving-boston-celtics-nba-champion-miami-heat

I won't bother posting the script. Too painful right now.

I do wish Ray the best, though - but just not against us. I have nothing but good memories of him in Green.

I sincerely hope that he gets his numbered retired in BOS. He deserves that much.

lets be honest...danny knew this was coming...that is why he swooped in and signed terry..once ray told him he was visiting miami...it was over...now danny needs to add depth on the bench...at least this is over

Yep...Danny had the inside scoop , made the quick right choice,

Thing is , everysince Ray was hurt and Bradley stepped up , the rumors have been flyin, for months ....I was for benching RAY in favor or Avery, it proved to be the right move at the time.
I think being benched for a 21year old was more than his ego could take, then being traded...yep ..he was mad ..and mad enough to leave Boston too  ::)    He has to accept being a bench player at some point...but its easier to subcome and sit on the bench for LeJerk an WadeThug.

Bad KARMA .... to turned on the Celtics

Ainge knew ray wasn't coming home....ever...now how does the roster end for the Cs?
