  • It's not hard to work hard.
D:

This sucks.

Anyone saying that this team is better off without Ray, or that Jason Terry will be an upgrade, or that this doesn't make the Heat considerably stronger next year is kidding themselves.

This really, really sucks.

I don't know whose fault it was, but boning that trade for OJ Mayo is a real kick in the pants right now.

whoa! whoa! slow down there ole chap. You think Ray could create his own shot like terry? You think Ray could play better D than Terry? wow.........yes ray will make the cheat better, no doubt.....we will have to improvise, adapt and overcome.

Jason Terry is a fine player. But in no universe is he an upgrade over a 1st ballot Hall of Famer, even one that's 4 years older than him. And his defense is certainly not any better than Ray.

The goal is to get banners. This significantly hurts our chances and significantly helps the team that was already prohibitive favorites.
McHale's favorite ruse is putting paper in the mouths of sleeping teammates. "Try using one of these cocktail napkins," he said. "When just the edge sticks out of a guy's mouth, it looks like he's got fangs. The best part is when he wakes up."

Not an unreasonable figure.

It's a tad high but it's alright. I think it would have been fine on a two year deal or slightly lower at $24-25 million on a three year deal. I think Ray is still a strong enough player to warrant that type of deal.

So, do you cheer him when he returns or boo him.  I boo him.

I will boo him until my vocal chords bleed.
1. How about those missed free throws against Miamii Ray?
2. How about all the missed open looks?
3. How about how 3 guys with over 20000 points with a pg who is a passer, and they can't get an offense going??

He was willing to take 9 million over 3 years with the Heat and 27 million from the Celtics? Something isn't right here

RT @jclong: WKMG TV in Orlando reporting a Dwight Howard trade is "imminent" and it's not to the Nets... appears to be to the Lakers.

Ray Allen considered Pat Riley's presentation the past two days in Miami as "incredible," source says. "They sold him in every way."
Jeez, Pat Riley must be an amazing salesman. Hear this a lot.

Agreed, this is a 4th seed at best without Ray...they needed to blow it up in the offseason and they didn't, signing Ray would have extended the window for another year but they would have been destroyed in years 2 and 3

From the Herald:

Allen, tired of being offered as trade bait by Danny Ainge in each of the last two years, was also being offered trade security by the Celtics, either in the form of a trade kicker or a no trade clause.

But according to a league source, Allen’s request from the Celtics went beyond the pale - reportedly a demand for a three-year, $27 million contract. The Celtics, according to the source, were in the process of attempting to talk Allen down from $9 million to $6 million per year.

So he basically asked for something he knew Boston wouldn't give? Then he signs for one third of that with Miami.  So he would have only stayed in Boston for the right amount of cash but that money wasn't an issue when it comes to playing for Miami?
