I sniff a sign and trade

I said the same thing!
That was my first thought too, but I think it is unlikely. Ainge has to negotiate these contracts in good faith of everyone on the team will wonder if they are safe.

You can't do a sign and trade without the consent of the player being traded.  The trade is part of the contract the player signs.  #88 on Coon's FAQ.

Hmm after reading that it stil seems like a sign and trade actually. guess we will see within "The next 48

Yes, please get rid of JJJ and Moore for a dependable big. Anthony Randolph pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Since when was Ant a dependable big? Don't get me wrong i am a fan of his, but idk about dependable.

No one gave him enough consistent playing time. Look at his PER and stats when he did get minutes. I see him as like Jermaine when he was with Portland, all star ready to breakout.
Did you see JJJ's PER? Although it's weird Ant is younger but the kid is 6"10 and still under 200 LBS!!!! yes UNDER

? Anthony Randolph is an inch taller than JJJ and weighs 225 lbs. His PER was also 17.6 last season as opposed to JJJ's 11.44. He's also younger and more experienced. What are you trying to say?  ???

http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/3455/anthony-randolph
And the last point i'd like to make...Don't forget the season was shorter and the rooks had barely anytime to be full prepared for the NBA level..

Yea ...I 've been thinking the same thing..... could be a DA trade deal getting ready to go down..

Like to send ...BASS , JJJ,  MOORE, plus ??? Allen?  what ever else , and get JOSH SMITH .... he's been thrown under the bus down there , with nobody to help him .

Wish Pau Gasol was so blessed expensive.

I hear ya im just not a Gasol fan. I cant see my self rooting for him or even see him getting pumped up enough to "fit" with the C's. Don't get me wrong Pau is a All-star but not who i want.

Well im also a guy who don't want dwight because i dont want to be like every other team trying to stack up on superstars. I want to make our own superstars through the draft and look like  any team in the west lol. Yes just about every team in the west drafted talent which is why they are more competitive and impressive.

Bass...3 years at 20 mil

Bass talks about his new deal with the Celtics
Posted by Steve Bulpett at 6:48 pm
Confirming and expanding on an earlier Herald report on Twitter, Brandon Bass expressed both pleasure and relief to be staying with the Celtics.

He and the club agreed on a three-year deal today, with Bass pegging the overall figure at $20 million. As for how that will be broken down, the power forward said, “It’s three years for $20 million. That’s all I know.”

Bass opted out of the $4.25 million final year of his contract to become an unrestricted free agent, and he sifted through the advances from around the NBA.

“We had interest from some other teams, but Boston is where I wanted to be at the end of the day, so that’s where I’m at,” he said.

Bass averaged career-highs of 12.5 points and 6.2 rebounds while starting 39 of 59 games for the Celts this season after coming aboard from Orlando in a sign-and-trade for Glen Davis. His game picked up as he became more comfortable with his surroundings and the Celtics got a better feel for how he could be effective.

Having established himself as a starter alongside Kevin Garnett, Bass enjoyed playing a major role in the club’s run to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals against Miami.

“It was definitely a big part of my decision that I have the chance to play for a team every year is competing for a championship,” the 27-year-old Bass said. “The experience that I had this year, there was nothing like it, and I wanted to experience that for the rest of my career.

“I always want to play deep in the playoffs and compete for a championship every year, so it’s definitely the best for me to be a part of this team. I’m just ready to go to work now.”

Bass likes, too, that he’ll be working at the same address. After playing for four teams in his first seven seasons, he welcomes a measure of stability.

“I didn’t want to keep jumping around teams,” said Bass. “I feel like I’m a good enough player to just stick with one team.

“All of those things were factors in me staying. I want to stay put. I want to finish my career as a Celtic. It’s a great team and an organization that’s all about winning. And that’s all I’m about.”

Glen Davis is making 4/26, he has 3 years left for 19.4 million, last season he made 6.6 million.

Reports are saying Bass signed for nearly 20 million for 3 years,to add to the 4 million last season, that's similar to Davis' contract.

So Ainge did a good job here.
