Would much rather have Terry than Allen. Terry is used to coming off the bench and has been a tremendous 6th man with Dallas throughout his career.
Ray Allen's game has declined and doesn't like coming off the bench.
Personally, I don't understand the infatuation with retaining Ray. Time to move on.
I want to keep Ray if we can because I believe in loyalty and chemistry.
However, in honesty, what you say about Terry is true about him being a better fit for the role and another factor is that Terry is more of a shot creator than Ray is, which is what we need in addition to shooting from that 6th man.
I believe in loyalty and chemistry, as well. Unfortunately, I'm starting to have my doubts whether Ray Allen does.
Because he hasn't signed three days into free agency (and more than a week before he can officially, anyway?). Give me a break. It's a business.
What I'm finding funny is people calling into question Ray's loyalty, when the Celtics organization hasn't reciprocated it. In specific, trying to trade him at pretty much every single opportunity in the past few seasons.
So... why should Ray feel loyal to us under this circumstances? It takes two to tango.
I also find it funny that people are focusing on Ray losing his starting job as the catalyst for him looking at all his options.
Let me re-phrase this. I don't blame Ray Allen if he feels that the Celtics organization hasn't been loyal to him over the last couple of seasons. Let's be honest, they haven't exactly been.
In turn, Ray is probably feeling less than loyal towards the Boston Celtics. So, maybe that means he's ready to move on. If that's the case, then the sooner he makes up his mind, the better it is for us. I guess that's all I'm saying.
Oh yeah, and don't you dare go to the Heat. As far as I'm concerned, that would come dangerously close to crossing the line into vindictiveness.
Hopefully, Ray surprises me and decides to come back. Soon! Then, I'll be willing to let bygones be bygones and pretend this whole little incident never happened.
