I like that one for Atlanta. They got the better player, and freed up some future payroll.

Atlanta absolutely got the better deal..Williams is a sixth man at best
Their plan is Harris at PG, Smith at SG and Horford in the middle.

Very curious to see what the Hawks plan is. Seems they've given up on the promise of the team that took our '08 team to 7.

I wonder if this means trading Smith or building around him?

I like it for Utah.

I prefer Marvin Wilimas over Devin Harris + Marvin fills a position of need that can be quite hard to fill unlike the PG position which is littered with talent at the moment and Harris is easily replaceable.

I'd like to see Utah make a run at someone like Goran Dragic now.

You had me until "Goran Dragic."

Is there a young free agent PG that you prefer over Dragic?

I think Dragic would be a fine stop-gap signing if Utah can get him. Contract would be easily trade-able (Utah limited to MLE, right?). Give them solid PG play in the meanwhile.

PG: Dragic Mo Williams
SG: Hayward, CJ Miles
SF: Marvin
PF: Millsap, Favors
C:  Big Al, Kanter

Maybe try and trade Millsap for a PG instead?

Edit: Completely forgot Mo Williams was traded there. He'll do fine as a stop-gap PG. Give Utah some time to find someone better to fill the role down the line.
Not a good looking team...might win 25
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Danny Ferry is a boss. Excellent work by the Hawks to position themselves for next off-season.

When you're just replacing Devin Harris, the bar is set pretty low.

Like the move for Atlanta. To me, Ferry has shed some bad contracts and kept his 3 best players. The Hawks could actually be relevent soon.

williams gets a bum rap cause he was picked ahead of paul and deron he is decent rebounder for a 3 and had quite good shooting percentages(TS% 54), although he did score at a below average rate compared to other sf.

of course his not worth 8-9 million, but he is pretty decent, if jeff green rebounded and shoot as well as williams i would be happy

Harris is slightly above average, he shoot it well last year when he started to take fewer shots, but it is easier to find pgs with harris production than sf with williams production.

They won 36 games last year starting Josh Howard and Devin Harris. Explain the logic in upgrading their starting small forward position/depth and only winning 25 games and having a guard equally as good as Harris?
