Throws a wrench into getting Howard.

And is Johnson and Wallace enough to keep Williams?

With Lopez?

I mean is that better then just playing with Dirk?

Nope.

Not to mention I think Dallas can create room next year for Howard still.

A lot can happen in a year. Who knows where the Howard saga will be at in 365 days.

Very true.

But Dallas gives Williams the chance to compete for a title this year and the ability to have more top talent added next year.

NJ, Joe Johnson and Wallace.

How does Dirk and Marion give him more help? They have to amnesty Haywood or renounce Terry to free up the cap space to bring him back and probably dump carter.

Men. I'm not impressed.

Wallace is at the tail end of his career, and I don't think Lopez will ever pan out. This team's future looked A LOT better two years ago.

Yep. This is what it looks like when you put all of your hopes into clearing cap space and the plan backfires. Cautionary tale.

I'm not sure that's the tale. The cautionary tale is, don't give up a lottery pick for Gerald Wallace because Gerald Wallace isn't that great anymore, and besides is a free agent in the offseason and you'll have to way overpay to retain him, which you shouldn't do cuz again, he's not that great anymore.

Your cautionary tale's title is too long. It should be " Don't Crash your franchise into the ground."

Because Dirk alone is better than JJ and Wallace.

2011 playoff version was.

2012 season version wasn't close.

Gerald Wallace was mind-blowingly average last year.

If this deal gets done Danny Ferry is a god. It seems like half the teams in the NBA are run by a bunch of idiots. Get a ton of cap space and instead of holding on to assets and then grabbing amazing players they instead trade a #6 pick for a mediocre player, and then overpay him. Think they are done? Nope time to trade for an albatross.

Fair enough but he is gonna be your fourth best player. Not your second.

Bad trade for Hawks on the court. They didnt get a starter put of all those players. Off the court, Hawks got rid of that huge contract.
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin
