Before we drafted Melo, the Steamer would've been good to bring back to see if he could develop beyond what we saw last year. However, now that we have our "center of the future" and are just looking for a center for next year's title run I think Wilcox is a no-brainer. In transition with Rondo he looked great once he got his legs under him (like many vets, he was out of shape and had a slow start last year) and was beginning to look solid on D before he went down.
Plus, if Asik just got offered 8 mil I'm pretty sure someone will outpay us for Steamer. Wilcox is coming off of heart surgery and most likely will not get paid more than the min.
