Source: Celtics willing to double (in terms of $) Heat offer to Ray Allen. Will give 2 years/$12 million. Heat can offer only $3 mill a yr

Chris Broussard tweeted this one on Twitter.

I think 2/12m is alright? Your opinions?

We don't know whether he will be (a) healthy, or (b) happy.

It's a lot of money to pay for someone who is now a pretty one-dimensional player, and who may have health/attitude issues.

I don't know that we have better options, on the other hand. And signing him gives us more salary flexibility than letting him go.

Good deal on both ends. Sounds like Memphis is giving him the full mid-level, so we'd be out-bidding them too. I'd take him for $12 over 2.

It's a fair offer and best he will get in terms of money.

I think he would prefer 3y deal but I would be reluctant to give him 18M/3.

I just hope that KG's third year is a team option/unguaranteed so that he, PP and possibly Ray all come off the books at the same time giving us flexibility going forward.

I hope he signs.  We need to use the MLE on something other than a backup SG.

I would think that , with the $$$ being comparable, the consistency of medical facilities available for his son could be a factor vs the Bradley "jealousy"

He probably starts for Memphis though as they need him in their starting lineup to space the floor for their bigs and Tony is great with energy off the bench.

Memphis is a really great fit for him. Hopefully he doesn't realize that.

Probably the best monetary value he will get from a team with any aspirations for a run at a title.

But is his relationship with Rondo(personal)and Celtics management(after trying to trade him the last two years)irreparable and is a ring more important to him?

Guess we will find out.

Would be nice for him to come back healthy, sign that contract fast and get that $15 million cap hold off the books.

I would love having Ray back, but we still need another scorer.
Ray is not the answer to our scoring of the bench.
