I want this kid back

Jeff Green (heart) has been cleared physically and has resumed 5-on-5 basketball, and hopes to sign with the Celtics as a free agent.
Green continued to spend time with the Celtics even after his contract was voided, and his agent said Green "feels a special kinship with Doc [Rivers] and the Celtic tradition." After re-signing KG and securing two solid big men in the draft, the Celtics are poised for another championship run.

nice comment, come one!!!

I have a feeling he is going to take a one year deal for around 5 million. Then we will have a ton of money to spend. Green plays well and then gets his big payday from us next year.

It's obvious Ainge isn't letting this kid go.   He played his cards right, is well respected by Green's agent, and is undoubtedly in the lead if he wants Green back.

2 for 2 if you ask me.   KG & Green both are back.

I think it'd be a waste of contract, was excited to see him get more time playing with Rondo, but it never worked and C's shouldn't go back to dealing with him again. So he, Wilcox, and Daniels can walk. We want reliable players come playoff time.

yeah I guess, they didn't make the perkins trade for nothing... it wasn't because they didn't like perk. Ainge must be really high on Jeff Green.

Hopefully he just takes like 5m a year.

I'm hoping for some sort of discount just based on the way Ainge handled the situation and the fact he stuck with him through the fight.  Not sure if that means 5 M or 6-7, who knows.  I do feel Ainge loves the person, the player, and what he could still develop into for the future.

Good backup piece for when Pierce leaves.

If we are serious at another run which we are now with KG back you have to sign Green, and then next Ray, and if on top of that we could still land Mayo or somebody legit look out we could be deep

I am all smiles right now ;D

I don't see Ainge not resigning Green, so if he does resign though the fans need to temper expectations...he was an okay player before the heart ailment, so lets not get excited expecting an all star. His ceiling next year is as our 6th man which is very okay with me.

Green, Melo, Kristic, Charlotte's 2nd rounder

for

Perkins and Nate

Danny won this trade, period.

I don't expect him to be an all-star. I like him as our 6th man. I don't expect him to be that much as an impact like Harden or Louis Williams. He isn't gonna score 16-18 ppg. I see him more like a consistent 10-12 points player. A player of the bench with the same impact for their team like Thaddous Young or maybe O.J Mayo now with Memphis. Pretty good bench players for their team which we desperetely missed last season.

Just a decent player who you can rely on. If he overeaches the expectations he can be as good as Harden, I worry a bit about his D, didn't looked that good in his matches although you really saw he was searching and learning the D.

I think it'd be a waste of contract, was excited to see him get more time playing with Rondo, but it never worked and C's shouldn't go back to dealing with him again. So he, Wilcox, and Daniels can walk. We want reliable players come playoff time.

And how did you know it didn't worked out, Jeff Green was brought in exactly as advertised 2 yrs ago which is to be a serviveable backup to PP, he may not have had his best playing days with us but that was solely because he was thrusts into a situation he was not comfortable with which was coming off the bench, but for me he did an above average job, there was even one point when we went on a 7 game winning streak or something.  We neber had plays actually run for him because of the lack of practice time he had with the team.  And we certainly cannot fault him for our exit in the playoff as that was solely on the fact that we had no Shaq and Rondo was playing with one arm.

I was excited for Jeff for a fresh start this past season until he was diagnosed with the heart condition, he was raring to go and has promised to be more asertive and I believe in the potential of this kid, He will be our PP replacement this coming season, he is very capable of doing that, We ain't seen the best of Green yet, part of it was because PP is still not in decline and is still capable of playing quality minutes for the C's, but those days should be lessened and the only way we can extend PP during the rigors of a gruelling season is if he has a capable backup that can actually start which Jeff Green can easily provide.  There is a reason why Danny did not draft a PJ3 in the draft, it may be because he is confident Green will be signed and Green is versatile to play the 3/4 positions with ease.

Lets give this kid a chance before we write him off, Im looking at AB and how he made the big leap this year, I see a easily Jeff Green making that big leap this yr, I just hope its for the C's.

resigning Jeff Green is important to our quest for banner 18 next year, not only to be able to give pierce a rest...but for when playing Miami we need a small ball lineup to match them.

I think a deal gets done in relatively short order

you pay him 9 million last year. KG is going to be paid 11.

No way on earth Jeff Green is worth 9 million a year.

I won't overpay for him. Same goes for Bass.

I mean that is premium money for backup players.

Yeah, Green is the key free agent now that KG is in the bag. I'd expect them to move quickly with this one.
