Maturity and indifference are two HUGE problems in a basketball player, at any level. Oftentimes, they are career killers.

Much respect for your opinion and completely agree when the immaturity and indifference are directly related to the effort someone puts into basketball.
Melo's immaturity which was exhibited to us by his indifference to his studies which resulted in him not being able to play basketball is different from his not wanting to improve his body and his skills to play basketball.
A young adult who makes a poor decision (this educational indifference cost him dearly in draft position and consequential $$$$, not just his team) hopefully learns from that poor decision and doesn't let it define him. Nor should we necessarily define him by it>
He has improved his body and his bball skills tremendously over just one year. I don't think that he is indifferent to working at basketball.
