Stiemer and Hollins get a chance first. If both get into better shape, it will be that much better. Stiemer has to get stronger and increase his quickness at the same time. Hollins just has to build up more muscles.

Maybe for a year or two deals. Fab Melo gets his feet wet and takes over the centre duties then.

If any poster on here was 7 feet they would probably give the Celtics the same impact as Hollins. I think Melo protects the paint pretty well personally. The pick looks 1000 times better with KG back in the fold

We just need to acquire the best talent possible.

I wish Garnett would just willingly play center. That'd open up soooo many more options for us, lineup wise. He's a top 5 center in a league where even decent centers are few and far between.

Put Sullinger, Bass, or another (at the moment) average PF next to him and things just aren't as complicated.

But he's Kevin freaking Garnett, so we have to be easy with him, because he'll help us tremendously either way. (obviously)
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.

I think KG is cool with playing center, it's just a matter of the other 25 minutes a game where KG is either on the bench or we have him play the 4.

Yes, I think the starting center and the backup 2 are the two question marks now.  (As long as they can get Green nailed down in good order.)

Absolutely. We aren't going anywhere without a physical low post presence and stop getting these guys that have never stayed healthy like O neal and Wilcox

Spend the money on Chris Humphries,

Ian Mahinmi and Jordan Hill are 2 others we should be looking at

KG at center is one of the major reasons Boston was such an awesomely bad rebounding team.  KG is no longer dominant on the boards, Bass is a below average rebounder, and Pierce and Ray have become very inconsistent on the glass and very vulnerable to guys going for the offensive board.  Throw in Boston's help defense often leaving guys out of rebounding position or trying to box out bigger players and we'll see the exact same poor rebounding next season.  I don't think just swapping out Bass for a better rebounder will fix it.

Ainge should definitely keep Steimsma but a real starting center is needed.

Hollins always has been terrible. Thank him for his contribution and move on, fast.

I think we should resign JO. He has had 2 full seasons and off-seasons to get healed up since he only play about 20 games total.

And I feel like we owe him some more money for all the hardship he's gone through!

If we're chasing a center, at least chase a good one Danny. Please. We already have Stiemsma to fill the goofy tall white guy role. We have Fab for the Patty O' role. And then Garnett at times, and even Sullinger to play the BBD role. No more Hollins' or anything like that. Get a solid rebounding, defensive C for the year, like a Marcus Camby, or someone younger or less injury prone. I can't take this anymore!!

I'm pretty comfortable with KG/Stiemsma/Melo and a vet min 4 who can play small-ball 5 (Wilcox please) as the center rotation.

Plenty of size and rim protection there (and a nice change of pace if we get Wilcox).  I would prefer to upgrade Bass than to add another center, if possible.

Can't see Stiemsma, Hollins, Williams sticking and Garnett has made it clear he doesn't want to play the position.

Sullinger is a great pick up but he's primarily a PF.

Fab Melo is okay i guess but i don't see him coming on for another 3-4 years. I see the Maine Red Claws in his near future.

I've heard the idea of going after Marcus Camby in free agency but the guy is a fossil. Love his game but you gotta wonder if his body can hold up another season.

Who would you guys want to go after and do you think the Celtics even need a legit center?

potential roster:

PG: Rajon Rondo, Keyon Dooling, E'Twaun Moore
SG: O.J. Mayo, Avery Bradley, Mickael Pietrus
SF: Paul Pierce, Jeff Green, Kris Joseph
PF: Kevin Garnett, Jared Sullinger, JaJuan Johnson
C- (FA), Chris Wilcox, Fab Melo

That team is DEEP.

I love that team. I would love that team even if our C position just had Fab. Stiemer, and Wilcox.

I am not comfortable with Ryan Hollins near anything resembling a basketball. Same thing with Stiemsma. We have the cap room, and there is a legitimate center Chris Kaman waiting to be signed. I really hope he can come to the Celtics at a fair price.
