Not sure if he's ever been called this, but wouldn't a great nickname for OJ Mayo be "The shopping list"?

Not going to lie. I was pretty warm on Mayo signing. Until I looked at his post season stats. Ouch. Anything more than 4 mil is robbery by his agent.

if bass gets a raise than more than 20% he becomes base year comp guy, only his previous salary counts for salary matching purposes(4.25 mill), no way to trade him for smith unless you include ray somehow

a 3 way with memphis could work

bass + mayo to hawks

smith to celtics

allen to the griz

It's good thinking, but it makes Atlanta worse as a team and I think they are just about ready to pack it in on this era.  They've got to get future considerations -- salary and youth.  Bass does nothing for them, IMO. Mayo is a OK future piece -- add JJJ and 1st/2nd next year...?   I'm not a huge Josh Smith fan but getting him for Bass and Ray sounds like a pretty big win for us.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
For a long time I expected Kg to sign a one year deal this offseason, so him and Paul could walk off into the sunset next year together. Now that KG signed for 3 years we probably won't have any cap room next year. I always thought that we would sign Josh Smith next year once we had cap room, since he has shown interest in playing here. Now unless we trade fo Smith this offseason I don't expect him to ever wear green.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Yeah, I'd like to see someone with more contractual knowledge than me show us what kind of flexibility we have next year at this point.

I don't think the Cs are "making a run" at Mayo, but I think he's clearly on their radar screen depending on what happens with Ray Allen.
Celtics fan for life.
