Suppose we do this and have #5, #21, #22, it's probably worth noting that:

a) We just gained even more cap room
b) We could probably move up to #2 for #5 + #22 or similar.

So the haul could actually be something like Thomas Robinson or Bradley Beal (#2), Tyreke Evans, and enough extra cap room to sign Green, Garnett AND Hibbert / McGee / Ilyasova.

The problem with this scenario is if the C's trade Rondo, is KG as inclined to comeback?

It's well known that KG and Rondo did not get along in the initial years.  Not sure how things have gone since. Obviously they'll say the right things to the press.  I've kind of been wondering if KG's return is dependant on Rondo going out, and some talent in that still makes the team competitive.  It's no secret Ainge has dangled Rondo out there on more than one occasion. Why would you do that to a guy you think is your centerpiece for the future?

When's the last time you heard Rose, Durant, Love rumors?  There would be no DH12 rumors if he were happying in ORL.

I'm fairly certain that Rondo and KG love playing with each other.  This has nothing to do with what they say to the press, but everything to do with watching the on-court chemistry that those two have developed.

KG is not an idiot.  If he's coming back, he knows that the best scenario for him will be to have Rajon Rondo as his point guard.

SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu

PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

If DA is shopping Rondo maybe it means KG is retiring ? I doubt KG would want to come back and play with Tyreke Evans. But if KG retire than i can see DA rebuild this team. Batum + 6th + 11th pick for Rondo and Pierce for 7th pick. Than with PP,Rondo and KG off the books he can go for Howard and J.Smith
He would have 6,7,11,21,22 plus Batum,Bradley and maybe J.Green. That is one scenario for complete rebuild

Twitter is blowing up because some idiots with fake Sam Amick and fake Chris Broussard are spreading Rondo trade rumors.

The fake handles probably have more legitimate info than Amick or Broussard
lol tru both of them are known for makin outrageous rumors like they got some inside info

Rondo is a hair liklier to be traded than Pierce....

Who will never be.

The Rondo trade ship has sailed.  It ain't going to happen.

Rondo and #22 to Sacramento.

#5 and #21 to Houston.

Lowry, Evans, and #16 to Boston.

Anyone?

That's actually a pretty interesting idea, though I really don't want anything to do w/ Evans. But if you could start with Lowry and then add good pieces w/ it I'd listen.

Evans would be a great sixth man. I like Rondo way more then Lowry, but Lowry is a very solid player on a great contract. Him and Gortat may be the best non-rookie deals out there.

I think you could argue the guy you'd be trading away has the best non-rookie deal out there.

I do think that Evans could excel as a 6th man, still in this theoretical trade I'd prefer to move Evans for something else.

I agree with that.

You're sending too much to Houston for what you're getting back. Beyond that, if you trade Rondo and don't get back either someone you expect to play as well as he did in the playoffs or two players that won't be too far below it then the team's headed in the wrong direction.

If you guys like Tyreke Evans, just draft Tony Wroten, a 19 y.o. taller version of him, with PG skills.

Rondo + Wroten + 22 > Lowry, Evans, and 16.

Am I the only person here who thinks SAC would never do Tyreke AND the 5th overall pick for Rondo in what's considered a talent heavy draft?  There'd have to be something of more value going the other way too to make it reasonable, perhaps Bradely.
I think it's a good deal for Sacramento.

Rondo and Cousins would be a very good base to build off of. Rondo's experience and established game would help that team considerably. Help the Kings develop their young players + future acquisitions. They have too many dumb/inexperienced players; having someone like Rondo to guide them would be of great aid to that team.

Not sure how valuable that #5 pick is to Sacramento. There is nobody there that I am wild about for that team. Even if they don't trade for Rondo, I think they should consider moving that pick. Maybe for a young star or an established in his prime star or even trade down for extra assets.
