CNNSI.com's Sam Amick is saying that White doesn't have a promise from the Celtics.

But, I'd trust Chad Ford's word hes the most connected NBA Draft source in the world.

Meh, he's the most devoted of ESPN's contributors to the draft but well connected? I'm sure the agents have his ear but I doubt he's got many sources in the celtics camp.

He nailed them loving Rondo.

Call me crazy but I'd rather have Harkless..

You are not crazy. Royce is overrated player. A stat padder in college. I can name 10 guys I'd rather have over White
10 players eh?  Since we're picking at 21, pretty good deal right?

10 players projected between 18-35

Festus Ezeli
Jeffery Taylor
Terrence Ross
Moe Harkless
Andrew Nicholson
Evan Fournier
Jared Cunningham
Will Barton
Quincy Miller
Fab Melo

edit: forgot to include my favorite player Tony Wroten

There named 11 guys

In a vacuum, the only player you named I would pick ahead of White is Nicholson.  White has a good chance to better than all the rest.

I would probably pick any of Nicholson, Harkless, or Ross ahead of White though, as I'm not convinced White will be a great fit for the C's.  White is a ball dominant player.  I'm not sure he would do well on a team where he would be primarily playing off the ball.  And let's face it, the ball handling duties on this team are Rondo's alone (once Pierce retires).

Festus Ezeli
Jeffery Taylor
Terrence Ross
Moe Harkless
Andrew Nicholson
Evan Fournier
Jared Cunningham
Will Barton
Quincy Miller
Fab Melo

Fab Melo and Eziel ::)

Youth, and size. Whats not to like?

BTW forgot to include Tony Wroten my favorite of the bunch. Upgraded list

1)Tony Wroten
2)Festus Ezeli
3)Jeffery Taylor
4)Terrence Ross
5)Moe Harkless
6)Andrew Nicholson
7)Evan Fournier
8)Jared Cunningham
9)Will Barton
10)Quincy Miller
11)Fab Melo

Wroten is a worse shooter than Rondo was when he came out. Thats all we need another Guard who struggles to make jump shots. He's a great passer but his shot is just awful.

It can be corrected. He has same intangible as Rondo. Think Rondo in 6'5 muscular 200pound frame

so does White and he is 6'8 260 and grabs almost twice as many rebounds

A big difference is, at least during his freshman season, Wroten didn't display a knack for finishing inside like Rondo. He was actually a pretty poor finisher after the rim.

His passing disappointed me too which really surprised me because he made some of the most dazzling passes I'd ever seen before he got to Washington.

I wouldn't be against picking him at 21/22 but he is so risky.  I'm still amazed by what an awful shooter he's been in workouts.  Workouts!

He was 21 and led his team in 5 statistical categories including rebounding, steals and blocks.  He's also powerful, athletic, has 7ft wingspan with the biggest hands in the draft.  I'm sure he'll be a great defender in the NBA.

I don't see how leading his team in multiple categories means anything. I think JR Giddens did the same thing at UNLV when he came out. He has shown little defensive awareness in some games and a lack of lateral quickness. Quick 4's and tweener 3's are gonna have a field day with this kid when they face him up.

I wish the kid well but not on our team.
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity...

Wroten is natural point guard. I think he can contribute right away as backup point guard. His upside is through the roof. White has no upside. He'll be the same player he is now.

1. Steals, blocks and rebounding are part of defense.
2. When you do as much for your team as he did, for as many minutes as he did, you probably can't stay in front of every one all the time.
3. He's also 21!  Let's not write him off especially when he has all the tools.  He's incredibly quick and explosive.

"Wroten didn't display a knack for finishing inside like Rondo. He was actually a pretty poor finisher after the rim."

How do you suppose Wroten scored 16.7 points a game? Shooting fadeaway 3's?

Check out some of Wroten's games on Espn3. If there's one thing Wroten can do, it's finish inside.

And he got to the FT line more in one season than Rondo did in two.
He's not getting fouled on fadeaway 3's, lol.

Rondo wishes he was as tough as Wroten, who's father was an NFL TE.

You lose all credibility automatically when you question Rondo's toughness.

Not when he reminds you that Rondo's dad didn't play football.
