Celtics making promise to Royce White at 21? (rumor)

This would make me VERY happy. I've been raving about Royce White for the past few weeks. The kid is gonna be a player. I'm not saying he has all-star potential (at pick 21, its rare for a player to become an All Star. Rondo is the exception, not the rule), but his skillset really is unique for a player of his size and strength.

Meh, he's the most devoted of ESPN's contributors to the draft but well connected? I'm sure the agents have his ear but I doubt he's got many sources in the celtics camp.

From a basketball perspective what's not to like.

Its amazing how people want Sullinger WITH back issues, but want no part of White due to his anxiety problems.

Obviously, White has been flying all over the country for draft workouts so the fear of flying thing has been blown way out of proportion. As I've said many times, his anxiety issues will never be "cured" but with proper counseling and support from his team, he can better cope with his issues.

I think this draft is about 18-19 players deep and then there is a drop off. Out of those 18-19 players the ones most likely to slip to the Celtics are who..

I really can't see any of the other top players slipping so if we indeed promised one we can still take White and the player that slips, it's nice having two picks back to back.

Harkless seems way too raw. He's not that good at anything at the moment except rebounding. He's young and athletic, but White is way more skilled
