I don't know if someone else mentioned this earlier in the thread (it's hard to keep up), but I'm following ESPN's live chat of the draft, and someone brought up the thought that maybe Danny picked Melo as part of a Bass/Melo-for-Josh Smith deal. It might actually make some sense.
