I would trade Melo for any of the guys that have gone after him so far not named Miles Plumlee.

Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. Pacers, by the way? Plumlee is a terrible basketball player. But what do I know, my team drafted a guy only because of his size... and he isn't even that big.

I don't know if someone else mentioned this earlier in the thread (it's hard to keep up), but I'm following ESPN's live chat of the draft, and someone brought up the thought that maybe Danny picked Melo as part of a Bass/Melo-for-Josh Smith deal. It might actually make some sense.

I pray that this is an example of the pundits knowing way less than they let on. I mean, if you had told me before the draft that Plumlee would go ahead of Moultrie and Jones, I'd have thought you were high. Here's hoping we know absolutely nothing about Fab Melo.

nor IQ either....which is one reason why melo is going to have trouble getting any playing time with doc's defensive schemes. melo is not a particularly bright human being it seems. doc's rotations are pretty sophisticated and take some time to learn.

that is not a good combo. melo played only zone at SU. let's see whether or not he has the brains to do more than be tall. i dont recall him playing against pick and rolls in college. he will have to in the nba.
At 22 you're not getting a franchise center.  Any big you grab that low is going to have issues.  The one thing that does scare me is the fact that this guy was academically ineligible at Syracuse.  That takes some doing.
I doubt doc gives math tests at practice.

On Melo, is there any reason he can't be as productive as Perk was for us? He's already a comparable post defender and shot blocker, and it's not like Perk was a Rhodes Scholar. If this is Perk 2.0, you have to be pretty happy with that @ #22.

maybe language issue were the problem, imagine studying at the university of san paulo or paris or milan and you had poor command of the local language
