Hardly suprising, I would like a rebounding 4 as I feel someone is gonna overpay bass

Hes not worth more than the 4 million that he was going to receive this year

Let's hope DA does the right thing and let's him walk.  He's not a bad player.  Simply isn't worth what some team is likely to pay him.

Evan Dunlap: Brandon Bass opts out of Celtics deal http://www.csnne.com/basketball-boston-celtics/celtics-talk/Bass-to-hit-free-agency-hopes-to-remain-?blockID=724792&feedID=10424 will prob want at least the $26M/4 yrs Glen Davis got with Magic

That seems like a bit of a stretch from Evan Dunlap.  I don't think Bass will find $7 mill a year even in this market.

I'd be pretty comfortable giving him a BBD level deal.

I don't quite understand what it is that people expect him to get paid.

Imho, 5/6 million per is a pretty fair deal.

I would have said the same thing about Big Baby... so who knows.  No NBA contracts surprise me anymore.

I'd take Bass for up to $6 mill and 2 years at most so he's probably gone.  Really was happy with him this year though.  Will miss the Bassmaster  ;D  Salute!

well, I am an LSU fan and suppporter so I am biased and would love to have BASS coming off the bench but not for what he will be seeking it appears. Let him walk!!! We need a power forward who can score, rebound and play DEFENSE. We need a good center to come right in and play 24 minutes to help KG also.
LET'S GO CELTICS!

You don't pay him that unless you want him to start at the 4--and I don't want that.

Oh well...can't get too shook up , mamma said ....there are more fish in the sea. I liked Brandon...he saved us from another year of Da Big Baby.(frustration). Bass has limited skills.  Probally is better as a role player than starter.

I'll be surprized if DA puts much effort into signing him . Maybe this will work out for bringing Ray Allen back.

Boo, I was hoping he'd decide to stay despite it little sense for me.

I don't want to have him long term and I doubt we'll find a better backup at his option price on a one year deal.

Ah well.

not surprising but a little disappointing.

Can't blame him for wanting 26 mill/4 years if that's actually what he's shooting for.  He had a pretty good year for the C's and this is the time for him to cash in.  having said that, those contract terms are what you give a good starting PF, not a guy better suited to coming off the bench and playing 18-20 minutes a game.
