Tyreke Evans's stock is at an all time low. For the Kings, he is worthless. From what I see, they are going to part ways with Evans anyway (they're keeping Marcus Thornton from the looks of it) and my impression is they'll use Evans as lubrication for a bigger trade. I'm now quite convinced that the value of two mid-late picks in a great draft like this is worth roughly the same as Evans to the Kings.

Why?:
For the Kings, Tyreke Evans is essentially a dead project. He has problems with DeMarcus Cousins (which means it's possible that other teams to negotiate a lot). They have plenty of holes in their roster that I think our picks can fill. Right now nobody else can offer two first rounders for them to retool as far as I know.

For us: I believe the KG rumor which says he's staying as long as the roster stays mostly intact. I also believe that Ray is leaving for the money. The team is also very old and is very perimeter based at the moment. We also have nobody to handle the ball outside of Pierce and Rondo. If KG is coming back, I think Evans would be a great addition for another season or two of contending.

Straight up trade:
Kings get our two picks
We get Tyreke Evans and their early 2nd round pick (or Jason Thompson)

Assisting a third team, e.g. the Grizzlies:
Kings get our two picks, Rudy Gay
Grizzlies get the Kings's pick
We get Tyreke Evans and the first from the Grizzlies/Darrell Arthur

OR

Kings get Rudy Gay, Zach Randolph
Grizzlies get Kings' fifth and our firsts
We get Tyreke Evans and Kings' early 2nd (or Grizzlies' first)

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Tyreke Evans is a rookie of the year, still young, who has proved he can play at an NBA level. A pretty valuable chip, worth more than two late picks.

Do you really want this guy driving 200 MPH on I90 and I93?

Why would the Grizzles give up Rudy Gay/Darrell Arthur for a pick? Or Zach Randolph for picks? Other than that, I can see it happening if the situation in the locker room with Evans gets bad.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

If he stays in his lane he's still better than 80% of the drivers.

Tyreke Evans's stock is at an all time low. For the Kings, he is worthless.

You need to elaborate on this.  Please link to articles with quotes from Kings executives or other NBA sources that describe why this is the case.

As was mentioned...former lottery pick and RoY.  Even if they want to move him, clearly not worthless.

For the fifth pick in this draft. They will be in the same situation as the Thunder I believe where they cannot afford to keep their roster anymore. I think making Speights their main guy and turning big contracts (especially Rudy Gay) into rookie contracts would be their main motivation.

Well not worthless but certainly worth less. It's also just what I deduced based on the following rumors/observations (sorry 'bout that):

-There's tension between Evans and Cousins. They're obviously keeping Cousins meaning other GMs will try to bargain, hard.

-Marcus Thornton got a giant contract signaling he's probably earned a permanent spot over Evans

-The severe lack of improvement is a buyers beware for other teams

-I'm under the impression that 2 picks this draft, even this late, is worth a helluva lot. These guys can be 2 huge rotational players.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Evans just doesn't fit in Sacramento. But that doesnt mean his stock is at an all time low.

He's still one of the quickest, sick handles and athletic 2 guard or point guard in the game, and I'm pretty sure SacTown can fetch more than just 2 late 1st picks.

Sacramento would be crazy to deal him to us for just our picks. Because I would do that in a heartbeat.

Off topic:

How about my boy Matt Cain throwing that ridiculous perfect game huh?

Why in the heck are we even lobbying for another guard?  We need bigs and wings!  We got bradley, dooling, moore, rondo, maybe ray.  Unless we're assuming wilcox is coming back and bass.  But geez, we need to start lookin at some legit athletic big man and now.  KG aint gonna go a full season on his own.

I think Evans likely will be moved.

But not for such a low ball offer.

I could see maybe a sign and trade type of deal where Ray Allen goes to one team that sends the big man the Kings want which in turns send Evans to the Celtics (there would have to be other pieces likely from the Celtics involved)

Who knows, maybe Ray to the Bulls, Boozer to the Kings and Evans to the Celtics (with what ever cap fillers are needed in there)

Celtics need young talent.  They have Rondo and maybe Bradley.  Throw in Evans, and you have a nice three man rotation at guard to build around.

I would have some definite interest in that move, since I suspect maturity is Evans' biggest issue.

What I wouldn't have interest in is buying high on him, such as a Pierce move.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

There was an insider article suggesting the 5 and tyreke to the bulls for Noah. I think that would be a very dumb move by the Bulls.
