Latest rumor, which is usually a rumor of a rumor,  was Peirce a draft pick or two and a goat for him and their # 5. And their # 5???

His name keeps popping up in trades, some with Boston, I now DA likes this guy. Hes a strong guard, shoots well, and passes. Hes young and about to hit his prime, and SAC will trade for Peirce with a season or two left??

I know SAC doesn't like to spend money, and they are not that smart, but really?

Is there some thing that some on could shed some light on why SAC (if rumors are true) would do some thing like this.

And if so, could we get him for some thing other than PP. I know they want a PG and we got a possible one(not Rondo) coming off of surgery, and would you do a package with that?

I have trouble seeing him and Rondo coexisting.

  • Another undersized Celtic...
He's a very strong 6'6" scorer. Why not? He could also help take the pressure off of Rondo bringing the ball up and he'd be a guy who could give guys like DWade problems. He could play both guard spots which gives us some more depth/versatility. The only downside is that he's a poor 3pt shooter for the 2 spot. I would love to see Pierce & KG around, but I'm all for the youth movement now.

He is supposedly on the outs in Sacramento. He has had to play out of position and he and Demarcus Cousins do not get along. The  Kings have decided to not give him a contract extension. Here is a link:

And Here:

I would love to try to get him but not for Pierce. I am sure we could make something work. particularly once July 1st rolls around. Take him and one of their bad contracts. The Kings are broke and have no hope of getting basketball arena in Sacramento. Things are a mess there.

I have my doubts on whether Evans can function well off the ball.  He's not really a jumpshooter, and floor spacing is something we need next to Rondo.

Tyreke with a jumpshot would be a wonderful addition to this team.  But then again, Tyreke with a jumpshot wouldn't be on the trading block.

Like I said before...Heck yeah!

For those knocking him for his lack of a jumpshot, AB made a living cutting to the basket.

We don't have anybody to handle the ball when Rondo's on the bench. If we get Evans, Pierce and Evans could take a lot of the load off Rondo's shoulders. Sure, Evans is no playmaker but I think for 10, 15 minutes a game he'd be great.

Plus, again, AB + Evans + Rondo is a great backcourt tandem. Any combination of the three is deadly.

A first + Bass/Ray (although I think they can sign him straight up)/Jeff Green/Jajuan I think is fair. Although I'd hate to see any of them go, it's so worth it.

Makes sense when you consider that Ainge has already worked out top 5 picks Barnes and Drummond. Plus, Sacto doesn't feel Fredette (who they love) and Evans can co-exist, they have Thornton, lack a veteran presence, and are usually on the verge of the minimum salary threshold.

I don't think they're going to give up their 5th for Paul Pierce. They could get a big to pair with Cousins and end up with one of the best big man tandems in the league or get a small forward for the future. Evans's stock has also fallen quite a lot.

I really doubt Sacto wants to pair Cousins with Drummond. Especially on a team with no leadership and with Keith Smart as their HC. That has a recipe for disaster!

They want a "vet leader type" in return for Tyreke Evans. The best case scenario in my opinion for both teams is Ray or Bass and a pick for Tyreke (although I'm not sure of the logistics for Ray. Can they just straight up sign him?).

Let's not forget how much Ainge wanted Evans during the draft:

Quote
The Celtics are exploring the possibility of trading Ray Allen and his expiring $19 million plus contract to a team in the top five of the draft in order to select Memphis guard Tyreke Evans, according to Chad Ford at ESPN.

If we had won the championship, would people be considering moving Pierce and KG or Allen? We have a team that, hit with key injuries multiple times, made the finals twice in the last couple of seasons, and was one game away from making it again. What is it going to take for people to realize that this unit of KG, Pierce, Ray is championship grade?

Just add around it, for goodness sake. Stop trying to trade away crucial championship pieces, and stop being content on letting championship pieces just walk away in free agency.

If we get that rondo call in game 2, we probably win that game, and possibly go on to win the series.

Ray is going to leave though. He said he wants the money for his family.

It seems to me that we got the most we could get out of this team and still fell short.

One good reason for a Pierce trade is to signal that we really are building for the team going forward. If we can get serious young talent for him, go for it.
