Pierce for Evans makes your stomach turn in principle, but from a basketball perspective you do backflips over this deal. You're talking #5 pick, Tyreke Evans AND an additional $15M in cap room.

If we sign Jeff Green plus McGee, Hibbert or Iyasova, we're going into next season with a lot of nice pieces. Rondo, Bradley, Evans, Green, #5 pick, FA signing, and still a lot of cap room is an interesting core.

Tyreke would be a terrible fit.

The only way this makes sense is if we are moving Rondo and Bradley as he fits very poorly with both of them.

If we got him who would start the 2 spot? AB or Evans??

I doubt Evans would want to come into somewhere and come of the bench. If you think about us resigning Jeff Green which im 90% sure we will. JG will be our sixth man. Can always play small ball with rondo bradley Evan, Green and our PF but i dunno. I think doc and ainge are quite happy with how bradley has progressed and i think with another pre season summer camp under his belt he will be even better.

Wouldnt mind a bench with both green and Evans though. 15-20 points a game easy from a bench with those 2 there.

I have trouble seeing him and Rondo coexisting.

same, they'd both want the ball but i love the idea of getting Tyreke

I doubt we will offer him more than 4-5 mill. he was a #5 draft pick and has shown he has talent, i actually really enjoy his game and hope he is healthy for the rest of his career.

And defs hopes he re signs with boston. Showed he can guard lebron cz of his similar build in his first season with bugger all games under his belt in our system.

I remember reading a quote from JG at the beginning of the season that said something to the effect of:

"I want to get out and show people I can really ****ing play."

I'll let the numbers people pick away at salary, and the advanced stat guys offer learned conjecture, but that's an attitude I admire, and, frankly, I'd like to see him do it in green and white.

As for Tyreke... he could be a great 2 for us, but I wouldn't bail on The Truth for him.

I drop Pierce in a heartbeat for Evans and the 5 pick. We could offer up Bradley and 5 for MKG, as well.

So many options down that route it's unbelievable.

I don't follow the draft or college ball nearly as astutely as many other people, so there may be a really killer bigman out there (aside from Davis) who won't fall to us that I don't know about, but I'd just prefer to have Pierce retire as a Celtic.

Exactly.
I'm not the biggest fan of Evans, but we can give him a year of experimentation and trade him if he fails- I'd honestly trade Pierce for the number 5 pick because we could get his replacement in one of the small forwards.
Get the number 5 pick are you kidding me? We'd have to jump all over this deal if they wanted to but I really doubt it's anything but a rumor.

If you disagree about moving Pierce for a #5 pick in this draft you are wrong. Plain wrong. Just my opinion  8)
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

Is Pierce gonna fetch a 5th pick?

I really doubt it, but maybe they need to sell tickets in Sacramento and he'd be about the best star they could get. Can't imagine them being as desperate as the Nets though when they gave up their pick for Gerald Wallace.

Maybe 2 first rounders plus Pierce for the 5th Pick and Tyreke? I'd even take just the pick honestly.

It doesn't make sense that a rebuilding team would take on Pierce.   A more likely scenario would be Rondo for the 5th pick and Evans. That is who the Kings would be after giving up those assets.  Who knows what Ainge is thinking.  Maybe then you draft a big man like Thomas Robinson, maybe he likes a PG with one of his other picks, sign Steve Nash, RA, and KG to 2 year reasonable deals to finish off with Pierce.

I would make this trade and find a way to roll over the rest of the cap space.

The Celtics would be in better position to make a run at Howard if they had the top level PG, and top level scorer and a good player with the 15th pick.
