Do we want Doc back? 1 ring in 4 years with the Big 3 1/2?

They love him so that is all that matters. Yes, we want him back.

I don't want doc back..he is a terrible coach....

Stop it

Quote
a "players coach" = the stars do whatever they want.....docs philosephy..no rebounding....as we have seen, rebounders sit.....okay, that is the worst idea EVER.....back on D, well, sorry, this is a full court, full time game....so yes, you have to do BOTH.....it is only 5 on 5, so WHAT..??? Keep one guy back for fast breaks, then follow and rebound....very easy to figure out.....doc is a very non-vision coach.....the guys they drafted should play early and often...why else did you draft them.....Bradley, a draft....more he plays, better he gets....so the same with moore and jjj.....but not under doc.....

No really...please stop

JJJ is malnourished...he needs to put weight on in order to be a good NBA rotation player. To say that Moore and JJJ were the difference in this series is looking at this through green colored glasses. Yeah we got screwed game 2...but they could have closed it out in Game 6.

They didn't...but it wasn't Doc Rivers fault

Doc is a great coach, it isnt his fault that our bench sucks and our big 3 are too old.

Fixed.

Watch the games. The big 3 are too old. It wasn't like they all outplayed their counterpart all series, and we lost the series because of the bench.

Also, no, KG didn't ask Doc if he wanted him back. Obviously that was NOT the time to ask such a serious question, lol OBVIOUSLY. What I thought he did say though, was something along the lines of, I'm coming back, don't worry about this emotional exit, I'll be back."

our big 3 built leads in all the games. as soon as our bench came in, we lost them because no one can score.

our big 3 are "too" old to play the minutes needed effectively to hold a lead like that.

but if you can bring in bench guys who can take a 10point lead, hold it and/or build it. That gives guys like KG/Pierce/RA time to rest and be more fresh.

if we have Jeff Green, wilcox, Bradley(moving RA to the bench) thats alot more production we could get

Steamer just got selected for the USA team....he did shoot well..until he constantly got benched....and never had any passes in the paint....Sasha is a good bench player, a good shooter, and a very good defender....but you may have forgotten that...MD even played good, when he was in....and as for moore and jjj, they would have been pretty good under popovich...he would have played them a lot in Jan-Feb-march...to get them ready.....he waited a year to play Bradley...why...as soon as he played a lot, he developed as all the rest would....and doc hardly ever held practice in any past year..it was a written fact, heard from kg, and the herald. So, no, you won't see who can do what there either.....Yes, doc can draw a play up..but that is about it....he was out coached in every series....the adjustments, rotations, matchups.....

Stiemsma is a 3rd string center at best. Sasha is not a good player. JJJ could not guard me. And so on. This bench might have been one of the weakest in the history of the NBA playoffs -- seriously.

Steamer was selected for the USA practice team...huge difference between the Olympic team and the practice squad. Sasha is terrible...never thought I'd read a poster complain about not playing the guy.

I think Stiemer was significantly slowed by his feet.  Otherwise, I think he'd have been adequate as a backup center and he could be a good backup for the next 10 years.

Even in his condition with limited playing time and, yes, with the opposition tending to score more points when he was subbed for KG, throughout the playoffs he led the team in FG% (73% higher than PP's!) and in rebounding and blocking rates.

There's some good 2nd-string potential there when he's healthy and been through at least one NBA training camp and preseason.

We hd no good bench this year because doc would never let them play..sasha for example....is a good bench player...never got a chance, except when he played against Atlanta...and shut down joe johnson.......

Sasha is not good. Uhhh he shut down Joe Johnson...? He played 25 minutes in 6 games, dude. ENOUGH.
He's a solid defensive deep bench wing, but we need more than that now that Pierce isn't capable of playing 40 minutes of all-star level ball every night.

wanna run that by me again?.......

Bar Pop i reckon Doc is up there with the 1-2 best coaches in the league. If you say anything close to we got out coached by the heat you obviously have no clue.

Doc is quite possibly the best X and O coach in the league at this point in time.

lol right?

Laughable. There is ALWAYS someone to blame other than the reality that Miami has 3 superstars in their prime that just flat out beat us.. LOL at JJJ or Moore making any difference.

Yeah you are right, the Big 3 may be old, but atleast they produced something last night.
Our bench scored 2 points (Ryan Hollins) compared to 19 from the Heats bench. Our bench was just plain awful.

It's a superstar league. Yeah, our bench sucked. That can be fixed easy enough.

You can't however, fix 3 aging superstars. Like I said.... Pierce was BRUTAL in this series. Ray looks like a role player.. ANd KG? he was neutralized when Bosh returned.

Bosh was also extremely rested. Bosh was also hitting 3s should KG gaurd the paint or the 3 pt line?

::) Yeah Doc really got outcoached...And those players you mentioned are awesome!

But when you wake up and come back to reality, you will realize they all suck and Doc had to cope with having basically a 5 person team.

I think it's neither. We just never had a bench that was there from start to finish. It kept changing because of injuries.

At the start of the season, our bench was JO, Bass, Dooling, AB, Jeff Green...

We went into the playoffs with Ray Allen, Pietrus, Stiemsma, Dooling, Hollins...

We ended with Pavlovic, Stiemsma, Marquis, Hollins, Dooling

Which pretty much meant just Dooling

It's too much to ask of a coach to deal with this much change to his rotations. If we'd started off with the 5 we ended with, we'd probably have much more consistency. Our players would have had defined roles.

I would have played the bench more if I were Doc but it's risky as hell. Sort of a Hail Mary.

It's not even the age that's the problem. It's just plain tough luck. 2 very healthy players needing heart surgery and AB getting injured like that is nuts.
