Steamer just got selected for the USA team....he did shoot well..until he constantly got benched....and never had any passes in the paint....Sasha is a good bench player, a good shooter, and a very good defender....but you may have forgotten that...MD even played good, when he was in....and as for moore and jjj, they would have been pretty good under popovich...he would have played them a lot in Jan-Feb-march...to get them ready.....he waited a year to play Bradley...why...as soon as he played a lot, he developed as all the rest would....and doc hardly ever held practice in any past year..it was a written fact, heard from kg, and the herald. So, no, you won't see who can do what there either.....Yes, doc can draw a play up..but that is about it....he was out coached in every series....the adjustments, rotations, matchups.....
Yeah Doc really got outcoached...And those players you mentioned are awesome!
But when you wake up and come back to reality, you will realize they all suck and Doc had to cope with having basically a 5 person team.
I think it's neither. We just never had a bench that was there from start to finish. It kept changing because of injuries.
At the start of the season, our bench was JO, Bass, Dooling, AB, Jeff Green...
We went into the playoffs with Ray Allen, Pietrus, Stiemsma, Dooling, Hollins...
We ended with Pavlovic, Stiemsma, Marquis, Hollins, Dooling
Which pretty much meant just Dooling
It's too much to ask of a coach to deal with this much change to his rotations. If we'd started off with the 5 we ended with, we'd probably have much more consistency. Our players would have had defined roles.
I would have played the bench more if I were Doc but it's risky as hell. Sort of a Hail Mary.
It's not even the age that's the problem. It's just plain tough luck. 2 very healthy players needing heart surgery and AB getting injured like that is nuts.
