As a basketball fan, I'm actually pretty excited about this series.  LeBron vs. Durant.  Pretty awesome matchup.  I think we're going to be seeing the first of many Heat/Thunder Finals and the start of a great rivalry.

Definitely -- As a neutral, I think this is the most exciting Finals matchup in the last 15 years.

With the best one-on-one matchup in Durant vs LeBron since Shaq and Hakeem in 1995.

I am expecting a terrific hard fought series with lots of good basketball.

NO!!!

Though I'm just beginning to accept our Game 7 defeat, I will never cheer for Lebron and the Heat.. Even if they dominate the ECF for years, I want them to lose "Not one... not five, not six, not seven..." times in the Finals, no matter who they face out of the West, not even the Lakers..

The only thing that bothers me with OKC winnng this year is that Fisher will get his sixth! >:(

Fisher vs. LeBron. I'd give Fisher the ring. The Lakers sold him out and it'd be fun if he has more rings than Kobe.

A jerk like fisher, who won't honor his contract when something better comes up, makes the title of this thread a little more complicated.

Since fisher is pretty much a non-factor I'll still root for the rest of his team...Unlike fisher, his teammates, management, and fans conduct themselves with class.

I don't understand where this "he earned it" line of bs is coming from. What has lebron actually earned? He left a sinking ship to form a perceived super team because he was too impatient to wait for it to come to him.

Guys like Dirk, Kidd, Pierce and KG are guys who earned their rings. They battled for the better part of their careers to get to the championship and didn't take a shortcut.

Lebron embodies everything that is opposite the culture of the celtics org.

Didn't Kidd and KG leave sinking ships?

Well in KGs case the ship was already sunk and sitting on the bottom for a full year.

Go Thunder!!! Perk, Thabo, I-Blocka, Collison, The Beard, and even Kevin Durant are all players I enjoy watching.  I might even learn to appreciate Russell Westchuck.  I've never been able to find a redeeming quality in the Dirty, Little Flopper.

To be honest, I hope he does. He seems to have matured as a player and an individual. I know every thinks The Decision was stupid and immature. But so does LeBron. He agrees woth you. He admitted it. He regrets it. It was 2 years ago, it's time to get over it. He played MVP caliber basketball, was an obvious leader on the team. Showed up with CLUTCH performances in their 2 elimination games, and is still being told he isn't good enough. And as for being the next MJ, I never heard the press conference where he said it.

This, iont dislike him as much as i used to while i wont root for him since he went beast mode nd eliminated us dis year i wouldnt be crushed or disgusted if he won dis year

I think the NBA should just have a one on one tournament between Lebron James and Kevin Durant.  The league can hype that up and televise it on TNT and ESPN.

Then they can have a separate series where the Heat play the Thunder for their fringe audience which is actual basketball fans.

How good would it be for Mr. "not five, not six, not seven" to lose his third Finals to Kevin Durant at his first time of asking?

Oh, and there's Perk, also.

I never want James to win a thing.
This.

hope he goes his entire career without a title just to show the next arrogant SOB that no matter how much they stack the deck in their favor (Bosh, Wade and let's not forget favorable officiating) that nothing is guaranteed and some humility is a good thing.

Case in point: Durant.  he's got a world of talent and has been pretty humble since entering the league.  Most people, including me, have no issue with him winning a title.  The fact Perk would also win one with Durant is just a bonus.

Didn't Kidd and KG leave sinking ships?

They got their talents traded from sinking ships.  They didn't make narcissistic jackasses of themselves celebrating their destination and predicting championships.

KG stuck with his team a lot longer than Lebron did. KG gave his team a lot of good years and a chance to build a team that could win a title.

Kidd did leave, that's true, but he could have left the mavs as well to chase a ring as well. It's not that leaving a team is a bad thing to put yourself in a position to win as Lebron did, but it makes the claim that he deserves a title a little hard to defend imo. Had lebron been in his 30's, it might be a bit different.

Back to wanting Joe fired.

Not 4, Not 3, Not 2, Not 1...
Offense sells tickets, Defense wins games, Rebounds win championships.
