Sam Amico ‏@SamAmicoFSO
Nobody specific for Celtics if they trade up. But Hearing they're high on Jared Sullinger. @PakkAttackk

Word is every NBA team with 2 first-round picks except Cavs (Blazers, Rockets, Celtics, Warriors) trying to trade one for young player.

and just thought i would add that on twitter Marc J. Spears: ‏@SpearsNBAYahoo
When asked what teams off the Top 5 radar want to meet with him, former UConn center Andre Drummond said the Celtics and Spurs.

danny wants to move up.

Ya I have a feeling he's moving up, I mean at the deadline he tried to trade pierce and Allen for draft picks and a player (okur and the lottery pick for pierce and OJ mayo and a pick for ray Allen)
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

I think the plan is to see if a big slips then to go up and get them if it happens. Currently if we try to move up to draft one of those two players we would have to give up Avery Bradley as well as picks. I don't see this happening so the only thing that makes sense to me is if a player slips then we can use our two picks to move up and grab him.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I forget if it's Sam Amico who's full of crap, or Sam Amick. I get them confused, obviously.

curious to think that young player could be had for the 21s pick?

trying to think of young guys who there teams may be willing to give up on for a new prospect

maybe?

Wesley Johnson
Austin Daye
Soloman Alabi
R Beaubois
C Budinger
Jason Smith / A Aminu (depending on how NO drafts)
Cole Aldrich
W Matthews
Luke Babbit

I really cant see this happening and not sure how it works with the Cap.

The only players on that list I'd do it for would be Wes Matthews or Beaubois.

As far as an earlier post about which bigs could slip that we would trade up for? Drummond, Henson, Leonard, Sullinger are the ones that come to mind.

I have a hard time seeing Drummond falling past Portland at 6..the dude just has too much talent to pass up on.

As far as Leonard, I've been one of his biggest fans but I'm not sure how much I would give up to get him considering how much of a project he is.

Sullinger is interesting and I could see him falling. Again, I'm not how much I'd give up to get him

i am an ohio state alum..I have seen every game Sully has played. Kid is a winner. Needs to develop a mid range jumper (ala Bass) but is 6'9 and can post.

Played out of position here at osu but should be better at the 4. Will have to work on his PF defense

Def. a guy that could come in and provide some front line depth

I mentioned in another thread that I think he could be a top 5 rookie in terms of production if he found the right system but I think the C's really need some athleticism in their bigs

So we're looking at PFs perhaps a backup for KG and eventual starter down the line?

just for the record, pretty sure Amico was the guy who said the Beasley trade was "close"

I can't say I'm a fan of Sullinger as a prospect, honestly.  He has mediocre size and athleticism, and he'll struggle getting his shot off against the length of the NBA.

Having said that, in terms of fit he would be perfect for our current personnel.  He's a guy who will bang in the low post, which lets Garnett roam in the midrange.  At the same time, KG will hide his defensive issues.  He's also a very good rebounder and makes smart decisions with the ball - few turnovers or bad shots.

I'm not thrilled with his longterm upside, but if we decide that we're contending for one or two more years then I think he's a ready-now guy who could definitely help us.  But how much would it cost to move up to get him?  I don't think our two picks are enough, but I'm not willing to offer up Bradley at this point.

well, say ray allen wants to leave next year, or bass opts out of his option..

you have those guys(in sign and trades) and the 2 picks that you could try and swing a 3 team deal to move up in the draft.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Would be great if;

KG could re-sign on the mega cheap( 7 million or under)
We trade our two first round picks for a higher pick(might have to throw in Bass)
We have enough cap space to take New Orleans top 10 pick off their hands by grabbing Okafur.

End up with Okafur, a top 10 pick, a top 15 pick and still lots of room to sign Illyasova or some other kind of impact big/stretch forward.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
