Proven NBA player for a rook that might not pan out?

I think we are set at guards for years to come and need to find bigs.

Yes.

I love Bradley especially his elite defense. He has proven me wrong time and time again, and enjoyed every second of it. Iut if we could get a not undersized 2 guard who, as scouting reports say has the upside to become a good defender, and that shooting stroke and athleticism for just him, then I'm all for it.

Of course there's the risk of if he pans out or not. But that's the things any team should be doing. Calculated risk of course. Ross has upside, and so as Bradley. Looking at it, when both reach their prime, I think Ross could offer us more than what Bradley can give.

Let me get on record here, Im not hatin on Avery, I want him on this team. Im just saying, if it's for Terrence ROss, I'll trade him.

I'm taking the bird in the hand.  Bradley has the ability to score at least 10 to 12 points per game, while playing elite All-NBA-level defense.  Guys like that can play for a decade.

Ross has potential, but he's an unknown.

and frankly I think Bradley is too short to play long term SG

I just don't believe this anymore, so I would say no.

No. If we were in full rebuilding mode then maybe, however if we are planning on making another run next year with KG, Pierce, etc. we have no time to develop Ross.

No thanks. Ill take a 2 year developed Bradley who is starting on a championship caliber team over a rookie anyday. Im expecting bradley to play a huge role for us next year no matter who comes back or not.

I'd prefer to keep Bradley over almost any guards in this years draft.  Ross isn't one of those I'd trade for.

Just curious, where is this coming from?  is it a media rumor or just something thrown out there to stir the pot?

Yeah plus by all the mock drafts we should be getting solid prospects with our picks.

I can easily see getting more than West/Allen level production from them down the road.

Why is it people don't understand that a known quantity is almost always better than some random draftee?

Unless you're 80-90% certain that Ross will be better than Bradley, then you just don't make that trade. Bradley is already one of the best defenders in the league, and much to my surprise his offense has been steadily improving. The odds of Ross being a better defender than Bradley, or that his offense is so good that it overcomes Bradley's defensive advantage? Slim.

Words just can't express how risky a move this would be.

Just pick Jeffrey Taylor and you almost get Ross and get to keep Bradley.

Taylor is an elite defender. He can run the floor and can finish and is just as athletic as Ross by some accounts.

Taylor defended the 1, 2 3 and 4 at Vandy. I'd rather have Taylor and keep Bradley than just Ross.

Like I said, im not entirely sold on the idea myself but it is something to think about.

The ironic thing about Bradley is that when he was coming out of college he was billed as a offensive machine and even compared to monta ellis on nbadraft.net but we all know him as an elite defender.

Im not hating on Bradley, I love the kid but if danny really likes a player higher in the draft we really dont have anything else to offer.

That being said, I have absolutely no problem staying where we are and drafting with as deep as this draft class is

I agree.  That's why I think Ainge trades out and gets a Vet or young talent that's already proven.

No way he's getting rid of a 21 year old Bradley for Ross.  You continue the development of Avery unless someone is willing to give up the world for him (which won't happen).
