Really don't get the Pacers nod over my team defensively ... don't think it's even close, and I match up better man-to-man and team-wise defensively over the Lakers.

Don't think I'm getting the offensive credit, either, with no player on my team that scores in single-digits or with a less than in-the-teens efficiency rating.

The Pacers are a very good defensive team.

Tyson Chandler
Gerald Wallace
Lebron James
Raja Bell
Rajon Rondo

I think that's a stronger defensive squad, and a more versatile one, than the one you can put on the floor.

I'd rate Dikembe as a better defender than Chandler, but arguably everywhere else, the Pacers have the edge over your team.  I'd take Rondo over Iverson, Bell over either Richmond or Martin, and Lebron over Kirilenko, and I'd rank Wallace and Oakley similarly.  The Pacers can match up with both physical teams and extremely athletic ones.

I like a lot about your defense, but I didn't rate it as highly as Indiana's.

The only guy wasn't wild about was Jim Jackson.

What's wrong with Jackson?  I really like that pick, and thought it addressed some of the concerns I had about Dons on the wing.
He was a solid but unexceptional player. A well-rounded game but wasn't well above average at anything. Just average or slightly above average. A solid defender/rebounder and decent offensive player.

He doesn't create any advantages for his team, or, negate/limit an opponents advantage well enough to be a valuable piece of the puzzle.

That was why he was constantly being shipped around during his career. He's not a guy who really effects wins and losses. Just a place-holder.
I think his second major injury really affected his athleticism.  He just wasn't the same player after it.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I would agree.  Young Jackson was a really talented player.

I believe that Lakers team will start Eddie Jones. It has KG and Yao, great paint protectors. Jones is a very good defender. Noah as backup and Tony Allen, elite defenders. Billups is no slouch either.

Yeah, I don't think any team has 13 above-average defenders.  I'm sure every team has weaker defenders in their rotation (here's looking at you, Carlos Boozer.)

The Pacers are a very good defensive team.

Tyson Chandler
Gerald Wallace
Lebron James
Raja Bell
Rajon Rondo

I think that's a stronger defensive squad, and a more versatile one, than the one you can put on the floor.

I like a lot about your defense, but I didn't rate it as highly as Indiana's.
Have to disagree here, Roy.

Both Richomnd and Martin were better than Bell at rebounding the ball, and with both steals and blocking shots, (and absolutely destroy him in scoring); Rondo is my man, but defensively AI gets a bit of a raw deal, again ... he was a 3-time NBA steals leader, and one-on-one Rondo would have an extremely tough time at both ends of the floor against him, (don't get me wrong, I'd take an unselfish assist-leader like Rajon over an AI any day, but we're talking match-ups here, and honestly, Iverson would be a nightmare for R2 to defend); Lebron over AK defensively? I don't see that at all ... in the year I selected, Kirilenko was better on the boards, with steals and much, much better at blocking shots; Wallace and Oakley isn't even close for me ... Charles was almost twice the rebounder that Gerald is, a better scrapper, and much more physical, (and much more willing to pass the ball).

^ Blocked shots and steals don't tell you everything you need to know about defense, though.

For instance, Raja Bell in his prime was a VASTLY superior defender to Mitch Richmond and especially Kevin Martin.  Bell was one of the best wing defenders in the league (although it never showed in terms of stats); Martin has consistently been one of the worst and softest.

Rondo is better than AI on defense, too.  They both rank highly in terms of steals, but Rondo is superior defensively.  It's why he's made 4 All-Defense teams (twice on the first team), while AI never made one.

Lebron vs. Kirilenko is interesting, but I think Lebron is just more versatile, and is more of a lockdown defender.  It's close, and could go either way, but I give Lebron the edge.

In terms of offensive firepower, or who would win between the Pacers and Diablos, it's not really relevant to my particular rankings, which are just measuring defense.  In terms of offense or best overall, I just thought that there were at least three teams that trumped both of your squads.
