Deep down we all know it. He's just too good not to.

But when does that "too good" happen?  It is not like he is a rookie, or a second or third year guy (see Durant, Kevin).  Lebron has been in the league for 8 years, and is at his prime age right now (27).  So, you would think this would happen now - he is seasoned and primed.

But is anyone here guaranteeing a Miami championship this year? Or next?

Let's say they don't win...next season he's now going on 28-29.  9 seasons in the league.  And no major injuries to speak of, yet.  Getting close to 30.  He's not going to last forever, particularly with a game that relies so much on speed and power.

I think he's pretty much a lock to win at least 1-2. Good chance to win well more than that.

  • It's all about the TEAM!
I'm still in the camp that hopes he never wins one.

This was my thinking after Miami Thrice came together. What we are seeing though is three max guys sprinkled with average to mediocre players isn't ideal. Look what LeBron and Wade had to do to get that win on Saturday. You can't expect them to do that every night and not eventually wear down.

If Miami doesn't win a title this year it may be in the best interest of the Heat to trade Wade or Bosh. Then you fill out the rest of the roster with real talent. LeBron may win a couple of titles but there will always be another team out there with better pieces to challenge them. Last year it was Dallas, this year it's the Spurs, and next year possibly OKC. The longer Miami goes without getting the job done the more pressure there will be.

Wade for D12 makes a lot of sense, but will never happen

Riley, sloan or jackson will take over and try to get them over the hump for a few years before they trade wade or lebron

He should get 1-2. But I'm not sold on the fact that "he's just that good."

Physically? Yea
In the head? Not sold on it.

Jordan was 27 and in his 7th year when the Bulls first won the title.  He seemed to be fine for the next 8 years (though he took two off in the middle).

I think its worked just fine, last year they were dang close and this year with Bosh they were similar level contenders. Perhaps in an ideal world you'd rather distribute Wade's talent among 2 or 3 players to give the roster more balance, but I doubt it. In the end your best 3 players determine the most about your basketball team. The Heat can address their interior weakness without trading Wade/Bosh.

I'd be shocked if he didn't win a at least two titles for his career. He could easily rattle off more than that if the right suppor is there.

Miami should absolutely trade Wade.  I made a thread on it a few months ago when Wade was out and Lebron was dominating.  That team is just totally different when Wade is injured because Lebron does not defer and just takes over and that is what he needs to do.  Obviously Wade for Howard makes sense (Orlando could probably even get Cole or Chalmers from them or have Miami take on some crappy salary).  I think there are also a number of other trades that make sense for Miami including Wade for Rondo.  Some other trades that seemingly make sense for Miami and the other team Wade for Lowry and Martin, Wade for Mayo and M. Gasol,  Wade for Parker and Leonard, and a few others.

If I had a dollar for every time someone said that, I would have been the owner of the Celtics by now.
When you lose, the easy part is to see who gives up. Giving up is very simple. You basically take your stuff and walk away. To continue to work and to continue to compete is one of the most difficult things, especially when you really don't have anything - KG

In fairness, his career isn't over.  So all of those people who said it and all of those people who have said it for "10 years" may still prove to be right.  If memory serves me correctly, he has not retired as of yet.  We'll see.

I would bet money that LeBron doesn't win three rings.

1.) If OKC signs Ibaka and Harden long term that team is young, scary and talented and have their top 5 players together for another 4-5 years.

2.) If Cleveland get Anthony Davis, in a couple years I could see them becoming OKC.

3.) New York and Chicago still have loads of talent and money and good GMs. They won't be easy to go through every year for the next 3-4 years.

4.) Don't rule out the Celtics for at least this year and maybe next.

5.) LeBron is going to miss major parts of at least one year due to injury at some point.

6.) Lebron could really be a born loser and not have what it takes to win it all unless someone does it for him. This is still a very real possibility.
