I guess this is one of the few times the eyeroll smiley would be appropriate?

I'll indulge; no, but we can't rely on spam-filters to do *all* of our modding, so an advance warning seems appropriate.

In other words, I'm just being nice ;)

Stiesma looks so lost right now. He looks like he has no confidence on either side of the court.

Sadly true.  Hollins increased minutes have much to do with Steamer's play...because he certainly hasn't been great either.

Here's  big 'IF', but IF Hollins could grasp the ball, he'd be doing pretty well.  He's had hands on oops and rebounds and can't seem to control the ball.  Also, the ball is very easily loosened when in his grip. Too bad because he's been in the right place often enough.

well being an ohio state alum..i have watched just about every game turner has played...this is BY far the best he has played in the NBA...did this all the time in college..

but you gotta make him shoot jumpers...when he gets into the lane..he is a very good passer and a great rebounder...they need to take him out of the game

Why is Rondo settling for jumpers instead of driving to the basket?  What suddenly changed to make him show zero lack of aggression in getting inside.

Wow Rondo is TERRIBLE tonight

Have you made a single post on this forum that wasn't an anti-Rondo post?

Why does it matter? Rondo has been terrible tonight. He deserves every bit of criticism against he so far.

Rondo is leading the team in rebounds, assists and steals.

Rondo's primary job is to facilitate our offense. Our offense isn't good enough to have Rondo take parts of the game off on the offensive end.

He makes the offense tick. He has been brutal at this tonight.

How can that be when the right place for Hollins is D-League or Europe?

I swear I dont recall Bass making a jumpshot all playoffs, in the regular season he barely missed, when we saw him go up with that jumper it was almost a guaranteed swish.

The good part is the Celtics havent played "great" all playoffs, will we ever see the "great" Celtics that we are used to? I dont know, but im holding out hope.

Bradley
Bass
Pietrus

Once those 3 start making shots we KNOW THEY CAN MAKE. We will be in good shape for this title run.

His decisions in the fast break have been bad, but other than that, he's been alright. He's set up guys for open shots multiple times, but they just couldn't convert.

They need Allen on the court, so he can guard Turner

Allen has been decent on Turner, and Turner's shooting shouldnt be that much of a problem

With Allen on the court, the offense is much better vs the Sixers

How in the world did Rondo get 8 assists already? I swear we don't have that many field goals!

Rondo is feeding KG in the post and he's taking care of business... story of the 1st half. ::)

And he did finish...

I would say our team missing wide open looks (Bass alone has five of those) is more brutal.

He also leads the team in turnovers, is 1-5 from the field and has been settling for jumpers instead of driving inside.  The player he is guarding also has 12 points and 8 rebounds.

Is it solely Rondo's fault the team is playing poorly on both ends of the court?  No of course not, for example if Brandon Bass could actually hit the wide open jumpers that are far and away his best attribute then things could be different.  Or if Avery could finish inside like he did late in the regular season.  Or if Pierce could hit a shot from outside 3 feet.

Thankfully the C's are only down 5 so no doubt Doc is on their case right now.

Philly is a poor offensive team, Boston just has to slow down their transition and most important limit the offensive rebounding.  Cannot afford to keep giving up 2nd chance points...

Bass has missed a ton, but Ray has been very, very good today. KG is a major saving grace yet again.

We made a ton of silly mistakes, but we could be down by much worse considering all that happened. The Celtics should get locked in defensively, and some more shots should start falling for them.

Heck, if Bass just hit two of those jumpers, we'd be in much better shape right now. Or even just one from Pierce. Nonetheless, a 5 point deficit is not really a big deal. Hopefully the Celtics take care of business in the second half. They had a solid second quarter. And the 76ers couldn't miss anything early on.

I realize I am a little late on the uptake with this, but what is the explanantion for the fact that the 2 teams that played on Thursday play Game 1 today, while the 2 teams that already had extra rest get an additional day?  How does this make sense, or is there a formula they have to follow?
