Talented Athleticism doesn't mean you are the best player
Paul > Durant > Lebron
Don't believe you. Show me the Carfax.
You're stating a biased opinion without regarding any facts. Why is Chris Paul better? What does CP3 have that Durant and Lebron don't? Keep in mind they play different positions.
Lebron is averaging 27.1 PPG, 7.9 RPG, and 6.2 APG
CP3 is averaging 19.8 PPG, 3.5 RPG, and 9.1 APG
- You can argue that CP3 was better before in his career year (20,5,11). Problem is, Lebron averaged 30,7,8.
- Who would make the Bobcats better, CP3 or James? James is one of the best scorers in the world, and while CP3 is also amazing, he needs help to operate efficiently. Lebron doesn't - his assist numbers would go down, but his scoring would increase and the Bobcats would find themselves in the playoffs. Keep in mind that CP3 on the Bobcats would be alot worse than 7th seed Hornets.
- In the plus minus ratings, Lebron is number 1 with +474. Chris Paul is 12th with +328. Because of this, Lebron's presence is stronger than Paul's.
- Lebron also has a better efficiency rating than Paul.
http://www.nba.com/statistics/player/Efficiency.jsp
- Chris Paul is also injury prone. Every season Lebron has played, he's been in 90% of the games. http://www.nba.com/playerfile/lebron_james/career_stats.html
- Another thing to consider - Lebron James plays with ball dominant Dwayne Wade and Bosh. The Clippers offense usually runs through Griffin when he's playing, and when he's not, CP3 is dribbling and dribbling and dribbling until the shot clock goes down and he makes a big play. His numbers would go down if he played with Wade.
1. So the only thing you care about is Stats? Why play to win titles and lead your team when you can average stats like Lebron?
Both Paul and Lebron have good stats I that point doesn't matter. And Lebron handles the ball 24/7 on the Heat and he handles it equal times as Chris Paul. Lebron runs the point-forward while Wade is on the wing and Bosh in near the freethrow line
2. Injury proneness doesn't mean anything. If you're better, you're better. Chris Paul isn't Greg Oden or Micheal Redd, so that argument is weak. Larry Bird had a more injury prone career than Karl Malone, so by that logic is Malone a better player than Bird?
3. Efficiency, plus-minus or win-loss records are all based on team accomplishment. Lebron was successful on the Cavs because the TEAM ran efficiently. The team had the right players to compliment Lebron. He's a driver/scorer, so the team had alot talented 3 point shooters to compliment him. They were an efficient offensive team, and a very good defensive team. I hope you know that wasn't all Lebron. When KG was injured before and wasn't playing, the Celtics were still able to put up good defensive numbers. Sorry, but team is always better than the individual
If Lebron was on the Bobcats, no doubt they would win more games, but they would still not make the playoffs. If you didn't know, they were last in offense and one of the worst in defense. One player can not change that. It requires a big overhaul or more good players to add. Also Paul's teams were never as good as Lebron's teams, so that point is weak.
The best player in the league is defined by his leadership and clutchness. Paul has never under-performed in any playoff series, but Lebron has. But yet the media and fans try to overlook it, like its nothing. And Paul has done more with less
Stats are a better way to assume someone's greatness than to simply claim the other is better because of leadership/clutchness. Lebron takes over games just like CP3. He was awful in the Mavs 2011 Finals series, but that's just 1 instance. He dominated us, the 76ers, and the Bulls.
CHRIS PAUL WOULD NOT HAVE AS MANY TOUCHES IF WADE WAS ON THE CLIPPERS. Can we agree to that statement, please?
One player can mean everything to a team. James elevates his teammates to a higher level. What in the world are you talking about, James having better teammates. He spent most of his career in Cleveland. Did you see what happened when he left, or did you not notice? James may have Wade and Bosh now, but Chris Paul has Mo Williams (once an All-star), Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, Billups before, Nick Young, and Caron Butler.
Why play to win titles and lead your team?
Are you saying Lebron DOESN'T want to win a title? Are you saying he's just interested in the money and fame? Lebron does whatever he can to win. He even took his talents to South Beach. He left his HOME TOWN TEAM where he could have made MORE MONEY for a better chance to win.
The statements I highlighted are also claims too
"He was awful in that 2011 NBA Finals, but that is just one instance" hahahahaha that is rich. Like Skip Bayless said, people have Lebron amnesia, or "Lebresia". The media give him a pass and forgets how many times he has failed and been un-clutch
He has failed miserably in the playoffs too many times to count, but the 4 important ones
-The 2007 NBA Finals
-2009 EFC (aside from that hail mary jumpshot that won game 2)
-Game 5 and 6 of the 2010 East Conf Semi-Finals
-2011 Finals (4th quarter points, Lebron-18pts, Dirk-62pts)
If Lebron were to stay on the Cavs, he would have made prob 20-30 Million more. Buts not like he's taking HUGE paycut. He's making 100 million on the Heat. Plus Florida has no income tax
And Chris Paul would have about the same touches if Wade was on his team. Lebron has about the same touches on the Heat playing with Wade as he does with the Cavs, so I don't get your point
