I don't understand the fascination with Tannehill.

My safest bets in this draft:

-Richardson
-Floyd
-Barron
-Kuechly
-Claiborne

anyone that has multiple issues without money, could certainly have multiple worse issues with money.  I'd take Floyd off that list.

Luck is the safest bet in this draft.

AP- Patriots coach Bill Belichick may be thinking about packaging his own first-round draft pick (No. 31) and the Saints’ pick (No. 27) to trade to the Seahawks to move up to No. 12.

Albert Breer of NFL Network reports that the Patriots have inquired with the Seahawks to see what it would take to move up to 12.

Moving way up doesn’t seem like the type of move Belichick likes to make, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t do it if he believes a player at 12 can make the kind of impact that the last player he drafted early in the first round, Jerod Mayo, made. One player Belichick might consider at 12 is Alabama safety Mark Barron.

The old NFL draft trade chart is somewhat outdated these days, but it does suggest that packaging No. 27 and No. 31 for No. 12 would be a fair trade. The chart gives the 12th pick a value of 1,200 points, the 27th pick a value of 680 points and the 31st pick a value of 600 points.

Yes, by all accounts the Pats would need to trade above Dallas to get Barron. Given BB's ties to Alabama, I could see the interest.  Knowing BB, however, it is a ploy to get Dallas to trade up to #7 or something to select Barron, thereby raising the odds that Brockers or Cox or someone falls to the Pats (at #12).

Given the source is Albert Breer, I'm willing to bet this is more of a smokescreen than anything.  Would not be shocked if someone in the organization is using this guy and he's buying it.

I have a Love/Hate for the NFL draft. I look forward to it for weeks ahead. Line up all my hopes for who the Pats will draft, or at least what positions. I stay up much too late with this stupid 3 day thing. I sit with great excitment somewhere around 11-12 o'clock as it's finally the Pats turn to pick. after about 12 minutes the banner underneath changes to some other team and I'm informed that the Pats have traded there first round pick for a second rounder (which won't happen until Friday) and a first round pick in next years draft (which they will trade away next year).
Yet for some reason i can not even understand myself, I put myself though this pain every year, in the hope that just once they will actually pick someone, and that someone might just play a position of need.
Now that I'm done venting, I really hope this year they trade up and get either an impact pass rusher or DB. So,I'm guessing o-lone and a trade back. Just kill me now.

Except I'd be fine with an o-line, even though they're not sexy picks.

It seems that everyone has gotten the hint that the draft rumors hitting the wire later on in the process are largely smoke-screens, but that hasn't stopped them from flowing freely.

On Thursday afternoon, Albert Breer of the NFL Network reported that the New England Patriots had called the Seattle Seahawks, according to league sources, to inquire about what it would take to get up to No. 12 overall. Breer's educated guess is that the Pats are targeting Alabama S Mark Barron.

Barron's name is one that we've been hearing all day as a potential Top 10 pick, so moving up to 12 wouldn't do the Pats any good. But if Barron does manage to slide to that spot, we can't rule out such a trade taking place. By moving to 12, the Pats can jump ahead of Dallas, Philadelphia and the Jets, all of whom are rumored to be interested in Barron.

Hope this pans out for Washington -- I don't doubt that RG3 is worthy of a 2nd round pick, I just worry that Washington gave up too much in the way of picks.

RG3 is going to be a stud. This is one of the few great decisions they have made in a while.
