Wow -- just saw the hit.  I only saw the slow-mo of the hit and saw no 'context'.   It looked unprovoked and that it could not be explained by Artest just swinging his elbow without intent to hurt.  This is right at the back of Hardin's head. Should be a big suspension.

Absolutely disgraceful seeing Laker fans giving Artest a standing ovation as he walks off the court.

Stay classy, LA...  ::)

  • Be the posts you wish to see in the world.
If the guy doing that had no history whatsoever, that should still be a five-game suspension.  He felt Harden on him, raised up, wound up, and followed through.  He knew exactly what he was doing.  Horribly dirty.

Given that it's Artest, and his history, he should be gone for the season, and a minimum of 10 games total (if the Lakers lose in the first rd).

Whirlled Peas should be suspended..no doubt.

How many people do you see get THAT hyped to where he doesn't know what he's doing?

KG, the KING of Intensity, has NEVER hurt anyone like that...

We'll see what the league does.

Send Cole Aldrich out there to take out Bynum's knee. You take my guy. I take yours.

That should absolutely be his last game of the season and post season. Ridiculous.

I don't think Ron Artest's mind was working in such a way that he was thinking -- "OK, here's my chance to take out a key member of the Thunder to help set us up for when/if we play them". Rather, this is impulsive aggression interestingly not resulting from him being provoked or angered, but resulting from exhuberance following his own dunk.  This is ugly aggression and should receive a max suspension especially as a repeat offender.

Suspend for the rest of the year, given both the play and his history.

Why did they let him change his name to World Peace? Metta Huge Jackass seems to fit better?

Just saw the highlight they showed as I was flipping through channels during the B's intermission.

Wow!  Crazy Ronnie sure lost control there.  Makes Delonte look stable.  Yikes!

  • You say when......
Thee announcers must think most fans only saw this ONE game with artest....as if since the indiana melee, this was the only thing he ever did.....if the players could talk freely, without dictator stern stepping on them they would say that artest should be out of this league for good....or all teams need to hire a goy who does the same....James Hardin did nothing, now he is out with a concussion, for who knows how long..I bet, in THIS league, artest gets to come back before Hardin has recovered...!
