Aside from being a lesser passer, rebounder, scorer and defender, yeah, Durant's a better player than LeBron.
3/4.

Which one? I assume you're referring to scoring. LeBron is averaging slightly less PPG, but he is shooting .534 from the field, compared to Durant's .505.

Although, Durant is averaging a better TS%.

They're a wash here, I think. So, point taken.

Durant's rebounding numbers are actually very strong. His passing is very improved as well.

Not better than Lebron, but very good for a 3.

Yes, for sure. Durant was a great rebounder at Texas too but when he was drafted, he played out of position from for his first couple years in the league.

Given the minutes and pace difference (which aren't huge but are there) their scoring rates are almost identical. Efficiencies are also so close one good game or bad one would swap nearly swap them.

ORatings 118 to 115 too (in LeBron's favor but I bet that advantage is from his greater assists)

Well, Bynum makes a case with 30 boards...

I didn't say he is the best center, I said he makes a case.

Kevin Love is the only other player to pull down 30 rebounds in the last TWELVE years.

Much in the same way that Lester Hudson has a case for being a top 10 scorer in the NBA with his recent string of 20 point games?

Exactly.  I would go so far to say that I'd rather Bynum be a Celtic over Hudson.  Call me crazy.

His whining and ****ing notwithstanding, are you suggesting in any way that 30 rebounds in a game isn't more impressive than a few game streak of 20 point games?  I'm not suggesting that he is in any way in the same category as Shaq, but you do realize that Shaq never pulled down 30 in a game in HIS ENTIRE CAREER?

Which 'holes' does Lebron have in his game?

I'd say the hole between his ears is a big one.  LeBron is a mental midget.  Classic front-runner.
In other words, you don't have an answer other than "he choked" in two recent playoff series. (and by choked you mean he didn't win)

I guess I just don't get why getting to the Finals and losing in a close series is worse than getting beat in the WCF in a more decisive fashion.

Of course in this thread I see someone put Nene above Howard as far as Cs go. Which is outright mind boggling, Nene is an elite offensive Center. But offense is only half the game, defense and rebounding are just bigger factors when it comes to center play.

Lebron had 18 total points in the 4th quarters of the NBA Finals
That sounds like choke to me

It's a pretty incredible number, but one that's been matched or bested by the likes of Michael Cage, George T Johnson, Jim Fox, Larry Smith and Swen Nater (3 times, in fact). I'm fairly certain that none of them were anywhere close to the top of the heap for Centers.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I always incorporate durability into a player's worth, so overall it's still Howard for me so far.

how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck was chris bosh?

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
Good time to bump this thread?

Bynum, when healthy, is the best center in the league. If Dwight was a 95 on defense, he'd be 90-94. There will always be health/attitude concerns, but Dwight has them also.

In some ways, Dwight is a liability on offense - He's one of the worst free throw shooters in the league. He has an arsenal of 3 moves; running hook, backdown dunk, fadaway 5 feet from the basket. That's why exceptional 1on1 post defenders make it really tough on him (KG, Perk, etc.)

Bynum shoots free throws incredibly well and is not a liability.

I really do think the 76ers committed a more grand theft than the Lakers did.
I like Marcus Smart

If that was the case, why did the team that knows Bynum best trade away both Bynum and a draft pick?
