Remember when people said Kevin Durant was better than leBron James, cuz we all hated LeBron James's diva-antics and liked Kevin Durant just a little bit more?

This is like that. Bynum is not better than Dwight Howard. He does have a more varied and skilled offensive game, but for all that, he's not considerably more efficient than Howard because of it. He's a better free throw shooter, but Howard draws more fouls.

And defensively, while both are good players, Howard has Bynum by a country mile.

Umm...Kevin Durant IS better than LeBron James.  The analogy doesn't really apply.

You sir, are incorrect. He's more likable. LeBron is a better player this season, and every season he's been in the league the same time as Durant.

And that's not to say Durant isn't an amazing player who is fun to watch and way more fun to root for. He's just not as good as the guy we love to hate. Its extremely applicable.

Well, sir, in my opinion YOU are incorrect.  Likeability has nothing to do with it.  I dislike Kobe more than any player that has ever lived.  Yet I can still respect his game enough to acknowledge that he has been the best player in the league during his time, and is going to go down as one of the greatest ever.

LeBron just has so many weaknesses in his game that prevent him from winning "the big one", albeit most of them are mental.  I would take Durant on my team before LeBron every single time.

The comparison doesn't work for that reason, and also because I'm not sure either player is all that well liked around the league right now.  And I know for certain, Bynum has never been more likeable.  Nobody, except Laker fans, likes Laker players (unless that player is a once in a generation talent-i.e. Shaq/Kobe).

Which 'holes' does Lebron have in his game?

He has the not being Dwyane Wade hole. That's enough for me.

I'd say the hole between his ears is a big one.  LeBron is a mental midget.  Classic front-runner.

Aside from being a lesser passer, rebounder, scorer and defender, yeah, Durant's a better player than LeBron.

See, that's the thing about Lebron. It's not quantifiable. You can't tell me exactly when his weaknesses are without ultimately coming back to one finals series (last year), and maybe the series against Boston in 2010, with the irreproachable 'he's not a winner'.

And maybe he never wins one, and your argument holds water then, because against history that's the ultimate measure. But up to this point, he's been to two Finals (2 more than Durant), one of which with the absolute worst supporting cast I've ever actually seen when he was what...21?

And then you add statistical analysis, factor in his defense and body of work, and he's obviously the better player. Not taking anything away from Durant (and as a fan, I'd rather build around Durant as well), but Lebron is the superior player. Less likable, but better.

I agree with this
1. Bynum
2. Nene
3. Howard
4. Marc Gasol
5. Roy Hibbert

And the last two is gaining up on Howard and haven't reached their potential yet

Where are Kevin Love and Al Jefferson on this list? Both of them put up better numbers than Dwight Howard. Dwight is better defensively. Now if there is some way for the Celtics to swap out Steisma and Jeff Green for Dwight Howard in the offseason and we bring everyone else back who is active right now that would by gravy for the Celtics.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

3/4.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Durant's rebounding numbers are actually very strong. His passing is very improved as well.

Not better than Lebron, but very good for a 3.

So both Durrant and Lebron lost to the same team in the playoffs last year.

But Durrant was clutch with his team winning one game in that series and Lebron isn't with his team winning two games.

In other words, you don't have an answer other than "he choked" in two recent playoff series. (and by choked you mean he didn't win)

I guess I just don't get why getting to the Finals and losing in a close series is worse than getting beat in the WCF in a more decisive fashion.

Of course in this thread I see someone put Nene above Howard as far as Cs go. Which is outright mind boggling, Nene is an elite offensive Center. But offense is only half the game, defense and rebounding are just bigger factors when it comes to center play.
